PETA Members Converge on San Antonio Following Tip About Live-Goat Stabbings at Fort Sam Houston

San Antonio -- Handing out leaflets that inform whistleblowers about how to speak out against possible violations of the law , PETA members will hold a demonstration outside a military recruitment station to protest the stabbing and killing of live goats at nearby Fort Sam Houston.

I'm in the medical field and how do you think nursing students learn to do stitches we use chicken breast or pig's feet, So if you were hurt wouldn't you want your Medic to know what they were doing? I don't condone PETA's radicalism, but even in the name of modern medicine, I don't understand what an animal's body has to do with saving human's lives...

Animal experimentation is just that; experimentation. When it comes down to it, the principles learned in animal experimentation don't relate 100% to the human body, and therefore, knowing that the nurse stitching my leg practiced on a dead chicken in med school doesn't make me feel any more confident in her ability.*shrug*

, too, have helped wth ths training whenever i was at Ft Sam. It really does help a lot to see how a body bleeds and responds to trauma. The soldiers learn to keep a being ALIVE...and thats the goal. When we are over at war we strive to keep the wounded alive and a plastc/rubber body just isnt enough experience for the real thing.
I was volunTOLD to go help wth this training and VERY upset the day i found out what was going on. I had BIG moral issues with it at first. ive been vegetarian for going on 7 years now and an avid animal rights person. the next day i convinced myself to soldier up and watch and help and i learned so much from the training and it really helped sharped some medic skills.
So PETA needs to quit there bitching and if they have any gripes or complaints they can gladly contact me.
