Army's 1st Division celebrates at Fort Riley

There are 8 comments on the The Associated Press story from Jul 16, 2008, titled Army's 1st Division celebrates at Fort Riley . In it, The Associated Press reports that:

Thousands of soldiers laced up running shoes instead of boots and hit the asphalt to help celebrate the Army's oldest division and honor members who have died in combat.

The 5-mile run Tuesday by 12,000 soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division was part of its first Victory Week celebration. The division's headquarters is here, as is most soldiers' housing.

Fort Riley expects the weeklong celebration to draw thousands of families, former soldiers and supporters to the post. The week is heavy on athletic competitions, but a ceremony to honor fallen soldiers is scheduled for Thursday.

Ft. Riley is the old home of the horse cavalry. The First Infantry Division is worthy to carry on Ft. Riley's tradition of providing military strength in defense of American interests.

"Fort Riley has seen 153 of its troops die in Iraq or Afghanistan, most of them from 1st Infantry Division."

Yeah, and every one an evil murdering grunt who had it coming.
Rather than provide such filth to fight illegal wars against innocents, the Fort would be better off incorporating principles and decency into its curriculum.
Explaining the difference between the immorality of their shameful dead and a honorable man like Lt Watada might stop its descent into barbarism.

You're just mad because the US kicked your butts out of the colonies and took away your slaves. Ha Ha Ha. Now they have cretins like you to do the menial work that the slaves used to do. Go soak your head!!! Suffer with your own hatred and your own contempt. All you want to do is lash out at those you don't understand.

Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made..
