When I learned that a soldier in my home town was killed in Iraq I wept. It ripped the heart out of me. And it made me angry, because if Bush, Cheney & the right wing didn't lie our way into war this brave soldier would still be alive. You Bush killed him. You Cheney killed him. You right wingers, you killed him.

Your lusted for war based entirely on lies. You said Iraq was behind the 9/11 attacks and many believed you. But you LIED. You lied and thousands of US soldiers died.

My hope is that the leaders who sent our soldiers to be killed are severely punished. Bush, Cheney and the other evil thugs in the Bush Regime are war criminals. They attacked a country which never threatened the US. But that didn't stop you from saying that "Iraq could attack the US within 45 minutes in the form of a mushroom cloud". You 'said' Iraq had WMDs when it did not. Then a year after you started your evil war GW Bush made a video with him crawling around on the Oval Office floor joking about not finding any weapons of mass destruction. While Bush and right wing republicans were laughing because no WMDs were found, our soldiers were dying. They were being killed because evil sociopaths like Bush, Cheney and their ilk sent them to die.

The blood lust that the right wing has is absolute evil. It is borne out of ignorance, vengeance and lust for war. Right wingers don't care about the loss of life they cause because they always cowardly avoid serving in the military. Not one right wing radio host has ever served in the military. But that doesn't stop them from being cheerleaders clamoring for war, even if the war was not needed and the reasons for going to war were 100% lies.

Bush, Cheney & the right wing are all guilty of murder. They killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis and 4,700 American soldiers. They are also responsible for the mutilations of 35,000 soldiers who have lost their arms, legs, eyes and spirits. They are responsible for the highest suicide rate in the history of our country. They are responsible for the domestic violence and mental scars from the thousands of returning veterans.

They are responsible for provoking the enemy into killing our soldiers, like when Bush told the enemy to "Bring it on". They are responsible for creating new terrorists and new hatred by torturing prisoners. Days after the US invasion of Iraq, Cheney ordered the torture of an Iraqi POW, an Iraqi officer. Cheney tried to get that officer to falsely confess to an Iraq-Al Qeadea connection that didn't exist. Because Cheney & Bush went to war based on lies they tried to get a reason AFTER they started their war.

Bush, Cheney and the right wing, may you rot in hell for your evilness and your assaults on the American people and the brave soldiers you murdered.

I am a veteran of the US Army. Unlike the cowards in the right wing who clamor for war, I served my country. I know the horrors of war. I know people die in war. And I realize that the people who die are human beings. Right wingers do not give a damn about our soldiers. If they did they would not have sent them to die in a country that never threatened us, which had no ties to Osama Bin Laden, which had no ties to Al Qaeda, which had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks and which had no WMDs.

Cheney is all over the airwaves trying to justify torturing prisoners. He said they were effective in "saving hundreds of thousands of lives". But Cheney is a liar. He cannot cite one instance where torture has yielded any useful information at all.

In the past week, Cheney blamed the 9/11 attacks on Richard Clark. But Richard Clark specifically told Bush & Cheney about Al Qaeda's threat to the US. He told them 5 days after they were sworn in. Clark warned Bush & Cheney several times before 9/11 and they did nothing. In a presidential daily briefing (PDB) Bush carried to his ranch in August of 2001 it specifically warned that Al Qaeda was going to attack the US by flying US aircraft into buildings. Bush didn't even bother to read the PDB.

Cheney's fervent justification for torture is a stark contrast to what he and Bush did prior to 9/11. Even though they were warned of an Al Qaeda attack they did nothing. Then, after the attacks, Bush, Cheney & the right wing decided to attack a country which had nothing to do with the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

On June 5, 2009, it was announced that 2 years before Bush became president, while he was still governor of Texas, Bush said if "he ever became president he would attack Iraq". Bush went on to say "I wanted to do it (attack Iraq) and the reason is that I understand that a person can only have a successful presidency if you were seen as a commander in chief and unless you were seen waging a war". The source of this is Bush family friend and author Micky Herskowitz.

Neo-cons have wanted to attack Iraq since the 80s. The attack-Iraq manifesto in the PNAC charter said they wanted to attack Iraq, but needed a catastrophe to justify attacking Iraq. When 9/11 occurred it was the perfect ruse to attack Iraq, a country which had nothing to do with 9/11 or Osama Bin Laden.

The Iraq War was 100% a war of choice. Those behind the manufacturing the evidence and for sending our soldiers to die in a country that never threatened the US should and must be held accountable. They should be tried in court of law and then sent to prison for life. Bush, Cheney and the rest of their evil ilk should be punished as the war criminals that they are as an example that we the people will not tolerate people who send our soldiers to battles based entirely on deceptions and lies. Bush & Cheney are war criminals.

Those who disagree with what I wrote are deluding themselves.

Signed,
A US Veteran (who served my country)

this talk does not help the family that is hurting now. My son surfed with Jarrett. He has been very saddened by his death. Let's all pray for his family.

My family is truly saddened and in disbelief about
Jarrett. When the boys were young in the subdivision and Jarrett was the oldest and the 1st to get his driver's license, I didn't worry at all about my son riding with him. But, one of my main thoughts about Jarrett is how determined he was to join the service. He will remain in our memories and prayers ..... as will his family/friends.

My son swam & surfed with this young man. He called when he heard and cried along with other members of the swim team. I cried along with them. I can still see him walking by with a hugh grin & happy. He will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prays go to his family.

Jarrett is a hero, no matter what the circumstances! My daughter was in Surf Club, with Jarrett, and Candice is her best friend. I can not imagine the pain the families are going through. We are heartbroken.

I'm dissapoionted that some of the posts are filled with hate. I lived a few doors down from Jarrett & Candice, they are my friends. The comments made will not bring Jarrett back. As a fellow soldier, I know the duty that Jarrett felt toward our country. That is why he (we all) joined. He was an amazing guy. His wife is an amazing girl. Jarrett's death has shaken me beyond belief.

Candice is asking for everyone to place yellow ribbons on their trees and small flags in their yards, to honor the soldiers who are still fighting for our freedom.
Jarrett's funeral will be Saturday June 13 at 10:00 a.m., at Grandview. The calling hours will be from 5-9 p.m. on Friday the 12th.

as a soldier i do know why we are there and we are there for a good reason. which is to help promote peace amongst the Iraqi people. I have seen the war first hand and i have shed almost enough blood to take my life for our great ccountry. i had 50% of my body third degree burns and I personally think that we made the right decisions and for people to just here things on the news and beleive it is wrong. all ii can say is keep praying for us soldiers and when our job is done over there we will come home. i am also from la porte texas and my condolences are with SPC Griemels family.if i have offended you then thats ok cause soldiers like myself and the government that we have are the reason you can get upset and have the rights and FREEDOMS as AMERICANS. if you traveled to a third world country and saw how they treat their people you might have a better understanding on where i am coming drom. once again i apologize if i have offended anyone.

Thank you for the sacrifice you have made for this country. You are the one who should be offended by the comments at the beginning of this forum. We are thankful for people like you!

No need to apologize, Cpl Pullin.
However, it might be best to keep your thoughts to yourself rather than expose yourself as a cretin.
If you really think that Iraq and Afghanistan were invaded to bestow rights on their citizens, you should be locked away safely in an institution - preferably in a straitjacket.

i think a good debate is healthy. To insult someone who is fighting for our country is shameful. Plus you did not defend any of your comments. I applaud our soldiers and think we should support them in every way possible.

Thank you cpl pullin spc. griemel and all the other men and women who put their lives on the line for us.
