A son's sacrifice & a mom's grief

Full story: Northeasttimes.com

There are some times when the pain is bearable. And there are others when she can't control her tears, like the day this summer when yet another package she had sent her son reappeared in the mail, unopened and dented, filled with crumbled cookies.

There is nothing idealistic about going to one of the poorest countries on earth to kill its innocent people for cash.
It was his duty to his fellow human beings to try to live a decent, moral life.
How nice it was for you to speak ill of the dead, goes to show the world that some of the brits are still a bunch of stuffy self righteous pompous uneducated azzholes who wouldn't know a decent human being if they saw one so piss off lol

How do you figure I am 'Taking anything out' on anyone?

War is about suffering, pain, destruction and death more than it is about anything else.

The USA is a war loving nation and will suffer as it should.

Shut Up....You do not even get what the USA is supposed to be about.

The USA loves war....we are a sick nation just making everything worse for ourselves and everyone else.

There is nothing heroic about wasting your life on these wars.

How long are we going to stay there YOU FOOL?

The enemy will outlast our candy soldiers and we will be beaten and sent home.

The enemy has no place to retreat to , you stupid fool, their victory is guarenteed by time and logistics as the USA goes broke.

Shut up I think not ,.oh I get what the USA is about I served and fought for this country and my son is there now and your right there is nothing good about war. you call me a fool maybe I am. Even though our country is "sick" people like you only make it worse, the people of this nation do not love war we fight because we are threatened, sometimes real threats sometimes false but to believe that this country loves war your the sick one. I don't have the answers on how long we will be in either of the two countries we are currently fighting in, I hope not much longer and again that decision is not up to me but you don't have much faith in the abilities of our men and women who are doing the fighting do you? They do the job until they are told that they are done if it were up to me they would all be home tomorrow ,but it's not.So all I can do is wait til they come home and support them while they are gone. unlike you who by the tone of your post is almost hoping that they fail Again if you don't like our country find a new place to live I'm sure Canada would love you .

I cannot understand why you are not down on your knees begging forgiveness for your immoral neglect.
By the way, neither Iraq or Afghanistan (as with Vietnam) ever threatened the US.

Grow up lol Go F*** yourself I never want to see any human being die unlike you, and I didn't raise him to kill , he chose to do what he wanted to do and is doing what he thinks is right, why should I apologize or beg forgiveness to pieces of crap like you for anything, you should be the one begging for forgiveness for being aa piece of --it and unlike you I do not get on my knees for anything except prayer I am proud of my son and his service to our country

Isn't there enough hate in this world. I too just lost my oldest son a threee time vet with only four months to go befoer he got out to perhaps a chance at a life. Whether we agree or not our children are being killed regarldess of who or where it is coming from.

It is not greed that many of these folks went in to the military nor a huge patriotic cause but simply becuase they were young and sold a bill of goods. They do what they are supposed to and we do not have the right to "pick" on them as this is us just as much as them as we as a country send them to war. My son was not raised with greed nor violence and the head of our family. We were rasied with peace and caring and giving to our fellow human beings.

This is horrific and the loss of my son is obscene but we cannot allow these types of arguments to cause their lives to be lsot in vain regarldess of how anyone feels about war in any country.

There's nothing peaceful about illegally invading a country causing no threat while carrying a big gun.
Your ignorant son had it coming and the patriots defending their families and homeland gave him what he deserved. The civilized world regards him and his murdering buddies as the scum of the earth.
Luckily, along with most of your countrymen, you are led to believe he did not die in vain and carry on believing the lie. The fact is he led a worthless, evil life and served no useful purpose whatsover.
The world is a better place without his kind stinking it out.

Interesting how people judge by nothing other than the land mass they live in. None of these borders were here before man. In any country. They are ALL man-made. And everyone is guilty of that quirky little fault. Without ever trying to really ever find out other than what mass media puts out there. Just think if we could actually reach out and touch another to learn more about each other. Life could be so much simpler.
