I am writing to let you know I had made a purchase at Ivan Smith Furniture and I was not satisfied with my customer service. I am a military member and I purchased a couch with extended warranty (which cost extra) with cash. The initial couch delivered to my home had scratches, and they promised to order me another couch. After two tries of getting a couch delivered, and both of them being defective, they stated they can no longer order any more couches and I would have to keep a scratched couch. They sent out their delivery workers, and they came to “touch up” my scratches. That entailed them taking a marker to the area and coloring it in. The scratches were still there, now they are just a darker color. One of the representatives from the store stated I could either get a $25 store-credit, or full refund if I returned the couch. I told her I would think about it. I called back 6 days later, and the same representative told me the offer was now void because I waited too long to call back. Unacceptable, she never said it was only good for a certain time period. I talked to the store manager and pretty much got a “you’re out of luck” statement and my only option was to get a $25 refund. I want to let the military community know that they are just out to get your money. Please DO NOT shop there, maybe that will let them know they cannot take advantage of the military community. They have lost me as a good customer.
