"he told McQueeney he knew he was about to be deployed overseas to combat terrorism."

He lied.
Helping murder Afghans who never caused him or the US any threat was not combating terrorism. This ignorant grunt's life was justifiably snuffed out by patriots defending their families and country.
He lived a worthless life and died a pointless death.
