Ft. Drum soldier sentenced for infant's death

A Fort Drum soldier wounded in Afghanistan has been sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison for killing a 4-month-old girl he and his wife were trying to adopt by throwing the baby into a crib.

dont base your opinion on just one individual...do u realize how many soldiers there are defending out country at Drum alone..this dude was obviously messed up in the head...not the armys fault

He obviously has PTSD an should get help people who have never been in a war zone just don't understand what happens an what kind of things they see!!! It was a terrible thing for him to do yes but you don't know what he may have been thru an why he did what he did!!

Ok that still don't make it right!!! U kidding me...lots of soldiers have issues and don't care to deal with them.. if u watch the news u will hear about the soldiers stealing..fighting in bars with civilians...selling drugs.. killing babys...child molestation...

I just read what little story there was available. Must have missed the part where the "obviously he has ptsd" comes in. There was nothing to indicate that he may have ptsd other than he was in afghanistan. Not everyone who goes and comes back has ptsd. It said the other kid kept him up most of the previous night and he didnt snap and throw him around. I dont really know what happened at that house but then again neither do any of you.

Not every soldier is bad. Both of my brothers are stationed on fort drum. My oldest brother has been in the Army for 15 years. He has never been in any trouble. He has a wonderful 16 year marriage with 4 children he adores. My baby brother has been in for 4 years and was shot in the leg in Afghanistan. He has PTSD and he deals with it through counseling and talking about it, not by hurting people.

I'll openly admit I've smoked pot in the past, not once have I ever bought it from a soldier. Not all military is bad.

My ex husband was a cheating, lying, abusive prick and he was never in the military. He was just an ass!

The military doesn't make you a bad person. You make the choice to be a piece of garbage or a good person. Thats on you, not any branch of the service

15 years is not enough time, he took a life time away from that poor baby that didnt even have a chance in life. hes lived a life and will have more quality life after jail. hows that fair
