US military 'concerned' with over-medication of troops
The top medical officer in the army, Lieutenant General Eric Schoomaker, said the increasing use of prescription drugs for soldiers recovering from combat duty in Iraq or Afghanistan reflected a wider trend in the country to treat pain primarily through medication.

The US Armys 1st holistic healing center is located on FT Bliss in El Paso, Texas. There is a retired NMSU Social work Professor there that has been working as part of a team that is reversing the effects of PTSD, without drugs, to a point in which soldiers return safely to active duty.
