This absolutely sickens me! They are picketing the wrong people. Soldiers are required to follow the orders of the Commander in Chief...which at this time is Obama! This soldier died for your right to free speech. What makes it worse is that this is church group that is preaching hate!

This country is going completely to the dogs. We have no pride in what once made us a great nation.

I'm going to speak out against them before and after the memorial service. The members of this church are and absolute disgrace to themselves.

These people have the right in our country to protest but if I were them I would pick a more appropriate forum to express their opinions. The sacrifice of an individual's life in the service of our nation is the ultimate sacrifice that anyone can give. Chaplain Goetz was in Afghanistan to bring peace to those who were there in very difficult circumstances. Jesus Christ himself said that greater love hath no man than this, that he give his life for his friends. We know he was speaking of himself but also of others too. I think this group of supposed Christians should read their Bible more carefully so that they don't miss out on the truly important things they should and could be doing.

I agree. They have freedom of speech but I hate the way they abuse the privilege. They protest the very people who are willing to die to protect their rights. It's a sick thing to see somebody outside a funeral with a sign that says Thank God for dead soldiers and other hate like that. I remember thinking that when they protested outside my nephew's funeral.

To Capt. Goetz's family and friends you have my sympathy for your loss.
