Joseph Rocha reported being cruelly hazed by Navy colleagues. Katherine Miller resigned from West Point halfway through, weary of concealing her sexual orientation.

Tick tick tick...so sad to see an old person with a life of regret sitting alone and angry. So sad. Nothing but memories of broken promises and no love to keep his final days warm.

Two percent. That is like 6 million in this huge country. That's a little more than one hundred thousand per state. How many per city then, a couple of hundred? How can such a tiny group be any threat to anyone? why do these few scare you so much?

And, believe me, it WAY more than 2%. Visit New York, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles. There's over a million gays and lesbians in these few cities alone.

Thank you for your insightful post. However, may I point out a couple of things?

First of all a majority of soldiers who participated in the DOD survey process had little to no problem with allowing their brothers and sisters in arms to serve our nation without having to break the code of honor. But let's go beyond that shall we? A majority of those serving today went to school knowing Gays, they showered with them in gym, played sports with them, were friends with them and most importantly understand homophobia is closely tied to ignorance. They fully support equal rights in our fine nation and understand why DADTDP was neither fair nor equal. They also realize that they have and do serve right beside homosexuals, have had their lives saved by them and have saved Gay lives on the fields of battle.

You really need to one, either grow up and realize that homosexuals are really no different than you or your neighbors or two, slink off to whatever bridge you have been living under for the past 20 years and spend the rest of your years sulking about the unfairness of your life. Your choice and have a merry Christmas mulling the facts over.

You forgot to toss in some of your Boy Scout BS. 2% really? Is that your own personal survey?

haha! Because homosexuals gravitate to large cities, it "proves" that they are more than 2% of the population?

I have no problem with any American wanting to serve thier country.

That helps better than those Topix posters of the 101st Couch Brigade.

We've had gays in the military since there was a military.

If you believe differently, you have your head in a cloud...or the sand.

Read Lawrence V. Texas (or get someone to read it to you) dopey.

A large coalition of homosexual activist organizations testified in federal court that the population of homosexuals in America is less than 2%.

And the attacks on the Boy Scouts by the ACLU and the homosexual/atheist activists isn't relevant to this thread. Try to keep up.

Have you been living under a rock? That's EXACTLY what DADT did.

And you're right...it didn't stop them. Not only are they bravely fighting foreign enemy combatants and risking their lives for your freedom...they bravely fought the injustice that DADT did, and won!

At the end of the day the repeal of DADT will be a non-event. Brave Americans will still enlist, true Americans will support ALL of them, and cowards like you will type hate against the gays on your keyboard.

The other countries have had open service for years and the folks in the military now have not known a time when it was any different. We will get that way also, but it will take time. No one likes change. And to Caribou Barbie is say that if someone stands up for their beleifs, THEY AIN'T PHONY. You just have two sides that don't see eye to eye. If christians backed down then they would be phony.

So what if the paper pushers have no problem with it? The only polls that are relevant are those of the front line soldiers, and a majority of them are against it because it will likely increase the risk to our troops at the head of the spear.

The likely lowering of unit cohesion is why all the military branches say wartime is not the right time to engage in social engineering.

But then, you people don't really care about our military. This is all about YOU.

Nor was it relevant to the last thread you hijacked dopey. And because a coalition MAY have made such a statement makes it no more accurate than when you do.

You obviously missed the DoD survey results. They showed that a Majority of thos military personnel polled had little to no objection to serving with gays and lesbians as long as they did their jobs.

Add them and the number's probably closer to 12 or 13 percent.

Any port in the storm is their motto. I'd suggest they'd better figure out how to save their marriages instead of all those divorces. Don't they realize we're coming after that next?
