What's the big deal? How is belief in GOD offending foreigners?

It's another atheist plot!

We Christians need to recognize that, as far as the Stuckerts of this world are concerned, because we believe the Bible and we believe in the literal return of Christ, we are considered an enemy. We can disagree with one another all we want to about whether there is a Rapture (and if there is one, when it will occur), whether Christ will return before or after a millennial kingdom takes place, and scores of other theological differences, but none of that is important to the events at hand: there is a growing sense among many governmental and military leaders in America that Bible-believing Christians are an enemy that must be marginalized, warned about, watched, and even controlled. And it does not matter to a tinker's dam to these Machiavellians whether one is a post-millennialist or a pre-millennialist. If we believe the Bible and believe that Jesus is coming again, they consider us "dangerous." And we Christians better wake up to this stark reality, stop fighting each other, and focus on working together to preserve our liberties."

fascinating that xtians cant see how their beliifs foster and support the fringe whack-jobs...

that you cant or wont see that many of thse millenarianists have greater influence in govt shows how little youre paying attention. its not belief in god thats the issue, its how thsoe beliefs manifest in the real world. and the Rapture-addicted folks have been very good at inculcating themselves into govt.

that our ex-president spent a lot of time with many of them and expressed his Holy War fantasys shows how little mnay of you are paying attention

Atheist want a nicer world. We want to make it a better place. Thats hard to do when many Christian believe the end is near.In believing this they don't feel any need to make it a better world. Pollution, over population, over 90% of the ocean fish gone. No problem god will be here soon.

Over the last 2000 years christians always say the end is near.

I am a Christan; I have never believed in the literal return of Christ.

thats good.

but like many xtians and many others in the west complain of the more moderate and sensible muslims - that they dont do enough to speak out agaisnt, and/or control or otherwise take back the control the Extremists have over their religion - the same can be and should be said of you more mdortaena sensible xtians.

"your" collective apathy over how the many xtian extremists have and continue to manipulate your religion and its influence over this nations policys and adherents is telling. and to me it tells me that perhaps mnay of you secretly favor these extreme ideas and actions as youd like to be as firm in your faith as the extrmeists demonstrate they are...

A British friend of mine passes along his weekly English newspapers. It's VERY instructive to see how they see us, and particularly our military, from across the pond. Remember, they are our wartime allies in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

There was an article recently where several recently-retired British generals describe their American counterparts in Iraq as absolute mindless Christian NUTCAKES, almost impossible to communicate with rationally, eager to "win for Jesus" and expecting the end times and Rapture at any moment, and so thus willing to bomb and kill civilians with impunity. The whole "Let Jesus sort 'em out" mentality.

think about it.
Change comes incrementally. Passive resistance coupled with a superior strategy and a superior state of mind eventually cause the trajectory to shift toward peace and justice. Think about what you have just posted. Look at the stereotypes you have propagated. How is alienation of others positive?

Christians have done a lot of damage from the Crusades to the witchtrials to the Holocaust of the Jews to the IRA to the eight years war, no matter how many deny that they were "not real christians" that is the religion they believed in, point blank period end of story. I believe strongly that christians are a dangerous group because of history and what they did to the native americans, women, blacks, Jews, Pagans and many other minorities.

People that send money overseas have no idea what is really going on with that money, let alone whether it is going to a good cause or not. Case and point, the wars in Darfur Africa were funded by missionary money.
