Cannon AFB doing what they can to be green

Another good idea to keep Cannon AFB green? Close the base, that would be a good start and watch the Clovis/Portales area suffer. They did nothing to strenghen the economy through private industry, you can thank the local leadership for that.

WTF GREEN? Then why are they tearing down housing fences which are perfectly serviceable and replacing it with a new one? It's a damn waste of your taxpaying dollars is what it is.

What do you mean private industry suffers? Portales is a major national center for food processing? They also have ENMU and a 3% unemployment rate in the midst of a national depression. That is worth a lot! Clovis may have leadership issues, but around Portales things are going quite well.

Um...Last I checked, we're not in a depression, but this place will be hit hard with the recession too. Furthermore, you forgot to mention the median household income of $29,153. That's not too good you know, and technically it's on the upper end of "Working Poor".

Yes wages are low and you can buy a house for $65,000. It is still the twilight zone.
