I beg to differ with the author of the above reference story. Last time I heard, Maria Lauterback and Cesar Laurean were not girlfriend/boyfriend. I believe he was an alledged rapist and she a victim, right?

I just love how the media puts its own twist and spin on the facts and somehow that makes it so.

There has been a huge increase in domestic abuse and murders of spouses by military personnel since the invasion of Iraq.
It does not help that the local police at Ft. Riley REFUSE to arrest abusive military spouses, especially when there is VISUAL EVIDENCE, that they have hit a spouse or a BABY!!!

It's one thing to hit an adult, who can speak for themselves, but this guy hit his small six month old baby!! He could easily have killed her. The next time he might succeed. What the hell are the cops and the military waiting for?

I personally know of a case where the military spouse is supposed to be taking "medication" for his "problems" (but the military hasn't prescribed anything "yet"), supposed to be taking anger management classes, has already been confined to the barracks several times, and he hasn't even been out of the country!

He's so obviously spastic that he should NOT be in the military! He's the kind of moron who should not be anywhere near a weapon. He's the kind of low life who could easily end up killing his fellow soldiers.

It's easy to see why so many military spouses are being murdered, and military personnel are killing their fellow soldiers like the one in Iraq who killed five at a facility!

It's a slippery slope, this domestic abuse/violence/rape thing. There are just as many false claims as there are viable claims. It's a time-comsuming job for any investigator, but I do feel the military needs to take these claims much more seriously in the future as it is not an all male world there anymore. Times to change protocal...NOW!!!

The military does not care about domestic abuse and the impact domestic abuse has on military families. I am the victim of domestic abuse by a USMC officer. I am writing a book about what happened to me, but it is enough to say my now ex-husband was promoted to Colonel even though my sons provided their statement about the abuse and his commanding officers were aware of the abuse. The false claims are few. No one would ever want to go through a 6 hour deposition by an attorney trying who blame a spouse for getting thrown against a bed in a fit of anger by a USMC officer.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Libra

Remember that life isn't all fun and games: handle your responsibilities first, then plan how to have a good time. Your impulses, once you yield to them, will have a tendency to lead you further and further from where you need to be. Make sure you lock the door behind you before disappearing; when you're in this kind of mischievous mood, you probably won't want anyone else to know where you're going.
