Obviously, US Staff Sgt. Robert Bales was forced to be deployed t Afghanistan after multiple deployments in Iraq where he was badly injured twice. After years of war against Mozlem brotherhood terrorists Robert Bales who has family and two children in America lost his mind and committed desperate attack on the Afghan civilians. The fact that even Panetta could not trust our 200 Marines that he met in Afghanistan and removed their guns during the meeting prove that Panetta cannot trust our Us troops that are desperate and do not know what is their lost mission and why they were deserted in Afghanistan by Obama that sympathize the Taliban and desire to give then victory and restore their rule of Afghanistan. Our US troops such as Sgt. Bales feel defeated in Afghanistan by the Taliban terrorists that are waiting for their leaving Afghanistan soon. The Afghan troops hate our US troops and shot them behind their backs, which leave our US troops as targets of the Afghan troops and the Taliban. Clearly, more US troops would sacrifice their lives for unknown lost mission of Obama who ties their hands behind their backs. Bring our US troops home alive now, will you?

The explanation may easily be that the US Army is cynical towards their personell. Our soldiers out there serve only some three months before they get a break, a "cooling off" period at home to recover mentally and physically. And I think they are not serving more than some 6-9 months in total. My impression is that the US soldiers will have to stay there for at least one year or more without real resting periods at home. Even many of our soldiers get psychological problems to deal with after service so I can imagine how inhumane US serving periods are to the individuals. You may be right that Staff sgt. Bales is an outright victim of his country's inhumane demands of their soldiers.
When will you ever learn...? And if so, he should not be considered

..for punishment, but the best treatment possible.
Make sure, in case, that he is not sacrificed by your top politicians who may be tempted to sacrifice him for foreign policy reasons.....
His actions is damaging for so many other soldiers out there - who may die in attacks being ignited by revenge actions.....

He should have killed himself instead of killing 16 innocent people. He'll spend his life in jail anyway. I guess going against Taliban wasn't a possibility.

In Canada, in Toronto and Calgary, some university students have held vigils for the Afghan victims. ome of the students are white Canadian born, some are muslims both born here and immigrated.

Certainly it was wrong for these Afghans to be shot and killed like that, but I ask these univeristy students "did you ever hold vigils and show care for our Canadian soldiers both those who were killed, injured or wished for their safety?"....no you did not. Many of you criticized them, degraded them or just simply ignored the sacrifice our soldiers make regardless if you agreed with this Afghan mission or not.

Some of you probably are a few who have made comments on various news websites during Canada's combat role in Afghanistan actually calling our troops down to the dirt.

One muslim living in Toronto made a comment to me that he would like to urinate on our Highway of Heros.

FROM THE ONE-SOURCE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT NEWS IT CONVENIENTLY FAILS TO MENTION THE OTHER 20 SOLDIERS INVOLVED IN THE KILLINGS TOO, OF UP TO 150 CIVILIANS THAT NIGHT.

THE ONE SOLDIER IN QUESTION IS CALLED THE PATSY, BECAUSE IN REALITY THIS IS A HIGH MAGNITUDE CRIME THAT REACHES TO THE TOP OF THE CHAIN OF COMMAND: OBAMA.

Our soldiers are trained to kill people and break things. Perhaps if they were acting to defend our nations, casualties might merit vigils, but the truth is that they were engaged in wars of aggression, THE HIGHEST WAR CRIME. Granted, they aren't the architects of these criminal policies, just the enablers, the cogs in the war machine.

Should we hold vigils for Mafia hit men that are killed as a result of "occupational hazards"? I suppose an argument can be made for such ceremony...

The innocent people of Afghanistan are human, too. They are "my own" as much as any other human, and they were not the aggressors in this war. But I guess primitive tribal folk like you have difficulty understanding such things...

innocent people of Afghanistan are human

ACCORDING TO THE AFGHAN RESISTANCE UP TO 150 PEOPLE WERE KILLED THAT NIGHT BY DOZENS OF UNITED STATES SOLDIERS---SOME WHO WERE DRUNK---AND UNDER ORDERS TO TERRORIZE THE VILLAGE BECAUSE OF THE RECENT ROCKET ATTACKS LAUNCHED ON THE AIR BASES THERE BY RESISTANCE.

THE LONE-GUNMAN STORY IS A LOAD OF CRAP, AS THESE TROOPS WERE UNDER ORDERS TO TERRORIZE THIS VILLAGE, AND THE RESPONSIBILITY, ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL WAR CRIMINAL LAW, GOES UP THE COMMAND STRUCTURE TO THE VERY TOP OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT.
