Did anyone in Mitchell or Plankinton know my Aunt Veronica? She grew up on a farm north of Plankinton, the daughter of Leo and Mabel Roth. If so please write me at Teresa_Brumback@yahoo.com. I'm the daughter of the late Mary Roth Brumback, who taught in a 1-room schoolhouse out there when she was just 16. During a hard winter, my grandfather used to take her by horse-drawn wagon to the schoolhouse so they could start the coal stove the night before. Nowadays, here on the East, they close school just at the hint of a dusting of snow.
