Good speech with the single exception of his handling of the immigration issue. I don’t see any reason to give amnesty of any sort to illegal aliens. Before that, shouldn’t he grant amnesty to U.S. citizens who have committed crimes? It just seems wrong to reward that kind of bad behavior with citizenship!

It's as if he hasn't been president this whole time. "Bridges, roads, teamwork, Hoover Dam, etc. He got a big check already for bridges and roads. Remember?

He and all the Leftists that are causing the downfall of every country they dominate in need to realize that TEAMWORK does not build a country and it certainly did NOT build America.

Self-Interest and Capitalism built America. The people who designed and labored at the Hoover dam did so out of self-interest. If you can't accept it and continue to fight against it while trying to change human nature than watch it all collapse (or observe that it never gets built in the first place). EVERY country that wants to build up their economy and wealth lifts restrictions on self-interest. The first European colonists that lived in Massachussetts were literally dying until Bradford lifted the restriction on self-interest and PROFIT. They tried to create "utopia" and it nearly killed ALL of them. Bradford became realistic and they lived.

Here is the biggest problem in America (and those like Obama and authoritarians in general relish it):

"I bet most Americans are thinking the same thing right now: Nothing will get done this year, or next year, or maybe even the year after that, because Washington is broken."

The REALITY is that if government actually would break down then this country would be much better for it since it is THE PEOPLE that do the building and it is the govt that gets in their way more times than not these days. Americans need to STOP thinking that the answers lie within government. THEY DO NOT. They are lying to you. Do you know why? Because it is in their SELF INTEREST to do so while they tell you to be "selfless" and sacrificial.

If the Republicans had not run up this $12 Trillion debt, we could easily have pulled out of the Great Recession.

Your government has given you near everythiong you have from technology, to immunization like pollio shots, and all you do is gripe, start fixing something and STFU. "THE GOVERNMENT ARE ONLY ELECTED PEOPLE" nobody or type of gov. is perfect, get over that fact.

There is plenty of fault on both sides when it comes to the financial problem we are in.
