I agree with Obama regarding Libya, it is not up to the US to police the world, that responsibility falls to the UN.
If the US puts a no fly zone policy in Libya, then the US is at war with them, we're stretched a little thin at the moment in that regard.
-
If the UN puts a no fly zone policy in Libya, then the WORLD is at war with them, and although our involvement will probably be large, it will not be a war that the US provoked.
-
He is clearly trying to get to DOMESTIC issues, but every time he attempts to, some other pundit is begrudging it.
Yet, when he was making foreign policy his foremost action, those same pundits begrudged it.
-
you cant have it both ways, and belittling every step he takes belittles us all.

it would seem that his main objective is to make sure that we don't engage in any new wars, and to keep other countries from starting a war with us.

I just want to know if anyone can explain the US Foreign policy. I think the US has done all it can for Japan. However, I think the Mid East is schizophrenic (SIC) in terms of what are policy appears. What I mean is that for Egypt an ally, the US took an active role, in Libya, there appears to be a hands off approach. In Libya there are people fighting and dying, in Egypt not so much. Do we need to send troops? I think not. Do we send the rebels supplies? I think so. DO we level the playing field? That is insure that no aircraft participate? Yes.
Now it appears that the Saudis have intervened in Bahrain. What is, if any, the response? What is the policy?
