Gates says North Korea's weapons tests not a crisis

You're absolutely correct. Our country takes everything with a grain of salt until it's to late. By the time we decide to do something, N. Korea will have nuke missles that can circle the globe just like a bird in flight taking a dump.

Gates is right. Kim Jong-dim-wit is a cold war has been ala FideL another left over relic...and he knows it. Any- any attention is better than none. "Look at me...I'm so bad!!!" He's falling apart. I mean look at him- he looks like walking death.

He's going to croak soon.

When ever he speaks- we say......"oooh I'm shaking now."

This is Kim Jong-il trying to provoke a war, because if he doesn't the military will start a coup to get rid of him. Not only that he has China breathing down his neck, this is a moment of desperation for him.

I think the speculation is that Kim Jung Il had a stroke a while back and is close to turning over power to one of his sons. The launches and underground tests may be part of an internal power struggle.

And for this not being a crisis. It just not a crisis that President Obama knows how to exploit, yet.

my humble observation is that dearest Robert Gates is thinking conventional war_fare "U.S. forces need 90 days to respond to a conventional military threat, but could mobilize much faster.
" also Eisenhower wanted to contain WMD from "An atomic threat made in America" http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworl...

also in today LA article showed a photo with caption of "South Korean naval vessels patrol off Yeonpyeong Island in the disputed waters of the Yellow Sea, the scene of previous clashes with North Korea", so what if US chose to demonstrate the only 2 nuclear WMD first in Japan sea water instead on Japanese civilians.

if one is listening care-fully to what Kim II wants as in http://www.latimes.com/news/la-fg-korea-nucle...
"Last year, a lot of people from Seoul and Washington visited Pyongyang, telling Kim and his people that that, once Obama was in the White House, the U.S. was going to be a totally different entity to deal with. But it's not working out that way. That's the reason North Korea is acting in such an erratic manner. "

Kim II simply wants to be equal to South Korea and recognized by US or dearest Barack with official recognition of her ambassador, in my observation so does dearest Ahmadinejad of Iran

Under the Commander in Chief the African Muslim Obama who chose to play golf during Memorial Day Gates is cutting US military power superiority to get ‘more even’ with US enemies. Evidently, Gates is getting ready ‘for peace’ and nukes-free world as the sound of North Korean missiles' tests sound to him more like birds’ singing.
Gates is behind a major slashing of US military cutting edge advantage aiming at appeasement of the peace-loving clueless Obama who has different pro-Iranian and pro-Syrian agenda.
Gate approved the cutting of US sophisticated missile defense systems and the world’s most advanced aircraft F-22 that suffer setbacks and was halted.
Now US military deterrence power is down to a 'regular' country that cannot stop North Korea nuclear proliferation to the radical Islamic Iranian apocalyptic regime of Ahmadinajad who needs the nukes for bringing nuclear disaster to the Middle east that is needed to bring the Islamic Twelfth Imam back.
US military cannot stop the building of nukes in Syria and getting nuclear WMD dirty bombs in the hands of the al Qaida, Hamas and Hezbollah Islamic terrorists that will cause the entire Middle East to become too dangerous place for US troops.
With Iran, Syria and the Islamic terrorists getting nuclear and dirty bombs US troops will be pull-out of Iraq, Afghanistan and the Golf and will be defeated by radical Islam regimes.
Gates under the African Islamic Dictator Obama is acting like a spineless Jellyfish, who send message of weakness and defeat of peaceful and impotent America to the radical Islamic regimes. The radical Islamic axis of evil of Iran-Syria and North Korea will use nukes and ballistic missiles against US troops, the Jews in Israel and the Sunni countries Egypt and Saudi Arabia leading to the destabilization of the entire Middle East causing major damage to US national security, energy resources and economy.

This is Gates
< http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory... ;
This is the result of your proposal to defend the world < http://spasticfantastic.net/... ;

Remember leaner meaner hi tech military with hi minimum standards? Went to shit due to Iraq.
Remember the super secret stealth technology? went to shit during Yugoslav conflict.
See the trend? Billions poured into something and no match for human intelligence and scientific research. made obsolete at a fraction of the cost to develop, a technology in the hands of opponents at no cost and who expand and are relentless at perfecting it. You should see what the russians allegedly done with our stealth technology, They applied it to missles perhaps a major factor in getting a early warning system disguised as a shield on their borders Lololol
