Technically speaking, this is NOT new as IMO the same is logically anticipated to occur anyway as the USDOD moves more and more towards UNMANNED MILSYS, e.g. UAVS, USVS, Unmanned Surface Ships + Submarines, Unmanned Airlift + Sealift , etc. 2030-2050.

THE REAL KEY FOR GUAM IS MAINTENANCE OR CHANGE(S) TO US MILPOL POWER + INFLUENCE IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC REGION IN RELATION TO CHINA'S REGIONAL, GLOBAL RISE.

Again, and despite China's rhetoric to the contrary, China sees itself as the DE FACTO "SOLE SUCCESSOR" TO GLOBAL LEADERSHIP VEE THE ALLEGEDLY "WEAK/DECLINING" US SUPERPOWER, NOT AS A "JOINT" IN SHARE WID OTHER MAJOR POWERS.

An adjunct to the above would be GUAM'S DECOLONIZATION + SELF-DETERMINATION, i.e. GUAM'S CHOICE FOR FINAL POLITICAL STATUS WITH THE USA [US Statehood-versus-Independence] . IMO ALL OTHER INTERIM POITICAL STATUS OPTIONS FOR GUAM BECAME OFFICIALLY OBSOLETE BACK ON 9-11-2001.

However carefully, GUAM MUST CHANGE!
