Space shuttle Endeavour lands in El Paso

The space shuttle Endeavour landed at Fort Bliss just after 8 a.m. today. The Endeavour, riding atop a modified 747 aircraft, is stopping at Biggs Army Airfield this morning as it flies over the region during its cross-country farewell tour celebrating the end of the space shuttle program.

Yeah, real farewell tour, just not for El Paso. It flew in over Fort Bliss lands onto East Fort Bliss where the citizenry was not welcome. The only places you could see it from was Loop 375 where you are not allowed to stop on the side of the road and Spur 601. But since it was 20 minutes early, how were you supposed to even think of making a quick stop on those roads.

I was just a little way from Spur 601 where even with a 250mm zoom lens I couldn't get good photos.

Well, at least I got to see it.

I would have preferred that the White Sands Missile range area or Hollaman AFB had housed the shuttle. Those in Los Angeles are just a bunch of thieves.
