What about air emissions? Why would they put the plant at Holloman and not in the mountains? Are there really enough trees to support this plant or are they going to burn waste? What about all the trucks going up and down the hill, burning fuel and tearing up the roads. I'm all for more jobs in our community, but this doesn't make sense to me.

The only benefit to HAFB would be a secure source of energy. Negatives would be air emissions. A years worth of wood stockpiled on base and the loss of land. Of course the city does not care wait wont affect them until a permanent haze sits over the basin.

There has to be more to the story of the County and Holloman gettin into the biomass business! Citizens concerned about what it will do to this area write to the City, County, and Holloman representatives on this issue. We don't need any more pollution, and toxics some that can cause cancer.

Shut the hell up Concerned. You talk so much schit out of your ass, it's pathetic.
Whether combusting directly or engaged in gasification, biomass resources do generate air emissions. These emissions vary depending upon the precise fuel and technology used. If wood is the primary biomass resource, very little SO2 comes out of the stack.
