My opinion FDR underestimated Japan's ability to have a successful attack on Hawaii. I believe FDR also thought that it was very unlikely that Japan would have the guts to attack Hawaii. I guess he and his advisors were more concern about Japan attacking the phillipines. FDR sent the pacific fleet to Pearl Habor for the reason that Japan was a potential threat to the US territories in the pacific and he wanted to show some US muscle to discourage Japan's hostilities. TO ROGER THE WHITE MAN , What the United States did in wwii to keep the world free does not give muslim terrorists an excuse to murder over 3000 human lives PERIOD. Surely you could agree on this.

I do know that FDR needed to get the American people into the war in Europe no matter what and Although I don't believe He conspired with anyone to let Japan attack us as Richard has claimed,I do believe an attack was expected and we(The USA) did certain things to make that possibility even more real.
And I believe America's involvement in that war was the right thing to do.

What was the reason for Japanese expansion (LONG BEFORE THE UNITED STATES EVER BLOCKADED JAPAN?

Why did the Japanes annex China,Korea,Burma,The philippines?
