A forward looking President...George W. Bush

A follower of Bush's plans and trying to sneak them in as his,...burrack nobama!!

What’s gone unnoticed is President George W. Bush had already launched the federal government on an energy efficiency program back in 2003, a program that is already saving U.S. taxpayers lots of money, notes Seth Leitman, otherwise known as The Green Living Guy ( http://www.greenlivingguy.com ).

From 2003 to 2008, the federal government turned in a 15% reduction in energy costs during the Bush administration alone, Leitman says.

President George W. Bush didn’t stop there. The Bushes installed a geothermal heating and cooling system for their home in Crawford, Texas, using only about a quarter of the electricity that standard heating and air-conditioning systems ordinarily consume, USAToday reports.

Ah, if only barrack had given credit to Bush's iniitiatives instead of all the blame game and phoney claims...we might get somewhere.

Well Done, President Bush

A few decades ago or so, the federal government undertook its own program to produce a good, reliable safe car for everyone. At the time, the article I read said it would cost one million dollars a copy to produce. Some years ago, the Simpsons did a spoof on that in their own way.

If he really wanted to do something he would just put a reward out there to the first person who could come up with a better battery. Post the goal and when someone meets it, they get the prize and the technology is licensed to who ever wants to use it to make better electric cars.
Nonsense. if you want the US to stop burning fuel, then implement polices that would do so.

if I were President today, one of the first steps I would take is to reduce the working week. WTF are we so programmed into working 5-8 hour days? Would we not save a ton of money by having people work 4-10 hour days? Doing so would reduce fuel consumption considerably. One less morning and evening of rush hour traffic in cities which burns up a lot of fuel.

How could a President do that? By limiting government to a 4-10 hour work week. Private industry would follow, and if not, offer tax credits to those that do.

Why do we need mail delivery 6 days a week? I wouldn't miss much by having my mail delivered every other day and excluding weekends. I'm in no hurry to pay bills.

Better batteries are not a pragmatic solution. Simple programs such as a 4-10 hour day work week will not only save us a ton of fuel, but give us more consistent time with our families. Three day weekends every week? You can count me in. And it won't cost the US taxpayer one more dime.

Yeah, Carter came up with a great one, the Dept of Energy, in an effort to become energy independent. 30+ years and who knows how many billions of dollars later, the DOE has produced zilch.
Want to come up with cleaner cars? Talk to Big Oil about all the patents they've bought up from people who've invented cars that run on water, etc.

That's all urban legend. It never happened. They did however produce an engine that does run on water near my hometown about six or seven years ago. The problem is that they could never produce a car out of it because water vapor is considered one of the most harmful global warming gasses.

Oil companies never have to worry about selling oil. If we don't want it, somebody else will be happy to buy it. Crude makes dozens of products besides gasoline.

One day you’ll get tired of that ridiculous GOP talking point… sadly, that is all you have, and it still wasn’t enough to stop President Obama from winning re-election.

But hey, Solyndra is a great name for a baby girl… LOL!

Only if you use other people's money to raise her and she ends up being a flop.

But hey, DumBama won, didn't he? Now when you get to be a gray haired old man, you can tell your grandchildren how you supported that half-breed wimp two times in a row, and he was the worst President of your lifetime.
