good point, and i heard malaysian submarine cannnot submerged becouse modified become the first floatable subs... is it true ?
YES! It is true. But this was an old news that predated back from 2010 and it created a lot of political controversy for the ruling BN Government as allegation of corruption was raised even until now.

Malaysiaís first submarine KD Tunku Abdul Rahman, a European-made Scorpene was delivered in September,2009. First it developed problems with the cooling system and it was repaired as the submarine was under warranty.

Then more defects were detected and the Malaysian Navy was then advised not to dive the submarine until all the problems were sorted out.

That was according to our Defence Ministry.

In fact, according to our book, we overpaid for these new submarines which were constructed in the West and delivered to us. That is why it created so much controversy in Malaysia over the allegation of corruption and bribery. The French are also investigating into the case.

As for our Malaysian navy, IMO they are quite professional and competent. They were the first one to detects the defects.

The Scorpene is supposed to be the most advanced class of non-nuclear subs made by the French.

Either the ones sold to Malaysia were lemons or the quality of Western military technology is falling behind.

There have been numerous other reports of failings in western military projects. Such as Britain's latest Astute class submarine, the US F-22 5th generation jet and it's contemporary the F-35 to name a few.

All are being plagued by numerous technical glitches.

China has an independant military production capability. China makes everything from rifles, tanks, missiles, jets, ships, submarines. And soon aircraft carriers as well.

Indonesia has to buy it's hardware straight off the shelf from foreign vendors. How can Indonesia match China militarily?

Matching the PLA is not the same game as victimizing Indonesia's vulnerable and defenceless ethnic Chinese minority.

China is going to have its own Monroe doctrine and that is expected. The more aggressive posturing over these islands has a lot to do with our own stated pivot to the region. I think the pivot might actually backfire and work in China's favor especially since our pivot is constrained by fiscal and political realities. The best move for any south east Asian country is to negotiate the best deal it can with China right now and not when China has the world's largest economy and an even stronger military.

The truth of the matter is that as long as China does not interfere with the international shipping of goods and oil, it really doesn't matter to us who owns these tiny little shoals and sandbars. As a major trading nation, China shares our desire to protect shipping routes. It is very likely that China and the US will come to respect each others security concerns and, as the countries with the two largest navies, actually share the responsibility of protecting international shipping.

Smaller south east Asian countries may not like this but need to consider that the notion of an exclusive economic zone far into the ocean is a recently conjured idea. Set emotions aside and negotiate the best deal you can right now. What is not a conjured idea and has been true since the beginning of time is that the rules are made by those with power who abide by them only if it suits them.

By displaying video of chinese marines landing on some island purported to be james shoal , the chinese navy only implicated themselves as myopic illiterates on top of being demented chicken shit

I think now is the best time for US to increase the military activities South China Sea to balance the military power in this region. China recently increase the sea power in very significant and China started to claimed some island in North China which is also confront with Japan.China look like the new trouble maker in this region. China also having tension not only with Malaysia but also with Philippine,Vietnam. From the number of incidents we can see that the China is trouble maker in this region.

The Chinese are actually doing the USA a favor in protecting and securing safety and efficiency in the shipping lanes of the China Seas(both South and East). Without China the area would be rampant with pirates. It saved us billions of dollars a year, we are already policing most of the world and now it is China's turn to do its part.

Don't worry, the US will increase their naval activities in the South China Sea. Therefore the US and China are to hold a joint naval drill --according to CBS.

That will be WWIII dude. What should the international community do when US is violating their interest? Should the world attack US when it does that? No, the world is more forgiving than US, that is real Christian value. Snowden is a international hero, please forgive him for that little trespass for the greater good of mankind.

The uninvited guest: Chinese sub pops up in middle of U.S. Navy exercise, leaving military chiefs red-faced

By MATTHEW HICKLEY
Last updated at 00:13 10 November 2007

When the U.S. Navy deploys a battle fleet on exercises, it takes the security of its aircraft carriers very seriously indeed.

At least a dozen warships provide a physical guard while the technical wizardry of the world's only military superpower offers an invisible shield to detect and deter any intruders.

That is the theory. Or, rather, was the theory.

American military chiefs have been left dumbstruck by an undetected Chinese submarine popping up at the heart of a recent Pacific exercise and close to the vast U.S.S. Kitty Hawk - a 1,000ft supercarrier with 4,500 personnel on board.
