A new report from BuzzFeeds finds that at least one Air Force base in New Mexico is recognizing same-sex marriages in the state, even though New Mexico's Supreme Court has yet to rule on whether or not gay marriage should be legal.

The federal government now understands the restriction on gender is an unreasonable and unconstitutional restriction on freedom and equal rights, as recognized by the Supreme Court.

Ironic that those who wish to restrict freedom and equality see their refusal to treat others as they would themselves under the law, as freedom, and call freedom totalitarianism.

Under the Declaration of Independence, all humans are created equal in the eye of the Creator.
It means that all people are loved by God.
It does not mean that all people are the same or identical.
It does not even mean that God loves all people "equally".
He loves some more than others, as is His prerogative.
It does not mean that God distributed his gifts so that all should be automatons and little goose stepping progressives, attempting in envy, to lasso others into their cauldron.
You confuse equal abilities with equal rights. It is because we are all different in abilities that the founders promised and required equal rights and protections under the law for all persons.

The Declaration says fundamental rights come from being human, and are unalienable.

They tried to make sure you couldn't determine who gets rights and who does not. They tried to prevent your from speaking for God and restricting rights based on your personal beliefs. That is why they use the words "their creator", not you personal God. For some, "their creator" is mother nature. Your dehumanizing pejoratives don't change the fact, equal rights are not for you to decide.

Demeaning pejoratives and personal insults remain the refuge of those with no argument on the merits.

You provide no legitimate governmental interest sufficinet for refusing to treat others as you would yourself under the law.

Actually, God isn't involved here - He already blesses gay folks and their marriages.

This is about civil, secular law. And in MN, there are no laws against same sex couples marrying, so it is legal in the state, and those marriages should be recognized by the federal government.

Simple.

And it doesn't harm a single soul.

No, you just did that. We didn't.

Gay and straight married couples are similarly situated under the law, and personal religious belief cannot be used as a reason to deny equal protection under the law to gay couples.

You need a better reason - you would need to prove that in this case, marriage actually harms gay couples, having married parents harms their kids, and more marriages harm society.

Good luck with that.

I do not think that was the case.

"You confuse equal abilities with equal rights. It is because we are all different in abilities that the founders promised and required equal rights and protections under the law for all persons." (NYE)

Seems they nailed it. Different abilities. Different outcomes. No guarantee other than the right to pursue it. No guarantee that you will attain or find what you want. The protected right to pursue it. Let's not parse it to the point of the absurd. Sexual orientation is not a barrier except in your mind.

If you had any knowledge of history whatsoever, you would see that God loves all, even those who are envious of unequal outcomes in life.(As was Lucifer)
The secularist will always put all his marbles in one bag- and attempt to bag the mind of God.
Fundamental rights come, not from being human, but from God.
Fundamental rights are not fungible; they are not distributed by Caesar, Obama, democrats, or the government.
Thank heaven the Declaration did not give you or your progressive viziers the status to determine truth.
Good thing God loves everyone as you clearly don't. Demonizing insults don't make your case.

Your belief you speak for God and you know who gets rights and who doesn't, again, is why they used "Creator", not "God". They knew some would claim to speak for God and judge who is worthy of equal rights and who is not.

Like it or not, in our system of government, our fundamental rights come from being human, and belong to everyone.
