Flattening and obliteration all areas that the rebels attempt to hold is an excellent military tactic! Using incendiary napalm bombs to burn rebel areas to the ground, is also s great way to employ a "scorched earth" military strategy.

If the rebels are following classic guerrilla warfare, then Assad's regime is falling to the rebel's aim of allowing Assad to use disproportionment response. Assad is potentially alienating his core supporters in Damascus and other main cities. Even dictators require some population support.

You ignorant, it is Western propaganda that calls Assad a dictator. Syrian people know that Assad governs collectively, and do not see Syrian Governmentís war as Assadís war.

Governs collectively, you bet, he collects and never shares. Not his war, very correct, he does not belong in Syria

I'm glad in your comfy world, it's all black and white. All the Syrian people support their leader, hey? This civil war would be over in days in that case.

Assad's "scorched earth" policy is obliterating all areas held by rebels. It worked exceptionally well for General Sherman and President Lincoln in the American Civil War!
