Dumping of U.S. toxic wastes in Philippines triggers anti-American rhetoric

Reports about the alleged dumping of hazardous wastes last month from U.S. Navy ships off Subic Bay, in northern Philippine province of Zambales, has reignited renewed anti-American rhetoric in the Philippines.

so was hong kong. 25% of it along with 100s of other nations doing the same thing.

reclamation. not recreation.

properly operated landfills can become sources of new land in countries starving for additional space.

however? we are talking about the filipins and here they are only sources of income for the scavengers who live amongst them raising their families to follow on with the age old filipno tradition.

im not so sure that they have balls don. i think that they have no choice.

truthfully, imo the filipins isnt the poor country that theyd have the world believe.

they enjoy that classification and foster it and milk it for all it is worth.

the wealthy need all of these poor scavenging beggars to further their causes.

Filipino companies should take over the
husbanding of all foreign ships in the Philippines. Foreigners don't care about Philippine environmental laws, they only care about money for their companies. It's time for Filipinos to wake up and build or acquire ships capable of transporting sewage to a sewage treatment plant located anywhere in the Philippines.

It's time to replace the Singaporean company responsible for dumping untreated sewage in Philippine waters.

Just don't send anything to the media with your name on it. They will loose face and when that happens it's the typical Filipino response of "shoot the messenger".

Just look what happened when Senator Sotto got busted from the internet for plagiarizing that speech. He responded by implementing the most draconian laws on the internet in the world.

Also check the new law to make sure that if talking bad about the Philippines can land you in prison.

The Filipino people know what they are doing every time they throw garbage into the river. Let them suffer for their actions, you will only get blamed.

This is true. The Pasig River is so polluted by Filipino's that there are no fish in it. The Pasig and 50 other main rivers in the Philippines have been declared dead from pollution not from industry but the average Filipino throwing their garbage into it.
Pasig River has fish Tilapia and Janitor Fish every morning many fish for Tilapia there.

im trying to tone it all down, but i swear its hard.

i actually came here hoping with my experience that i would be able to do some good and make some $$$$$ at the same time. i found out that my ideas were not welcomed at all and my hope of biz was impossible w/o paying off half of the damned country.

the biggest and best companies in the world have stayed away for the same reasons.
they simply arent concerned with trash collection in general. thanks that we do have it here, though it is dumped on top of the hill above town directly above the main river that flows thru the town :( and into the sea.

wealthy property owners at the beach have a lagoon behind their homes that is stuffed full of their trash which flows in and out with the tide daily to the sea.

you dont need to show them pics. they see it. they dont care and even let their kids play there.

sotto is another story and will go down in history and also in flames by the time the netizens are done with him. they will not let him rest.

these gov officials just dont have a good understanding of what the internet really is and its to their detriment.

Don,
I forgot about Smokey Mt.. Many times long ago I'd looked it up reminding myself my problems r so small. Never have been there in person, Tondo was a place my relatives stayed clear of. Kinda like the South Side of Chicago. Last trip over asked Aunt about it and told no longer existed. Maybe there just deny so many times it's forgotten. Looked it up again and noticed a sinkhole, r people mining under to get any goodies left before ?
In my looking found some group asking donations to feed those people. Best think to do is find a way reusing the plastics.

Wish I could see u'r facebook. Maybe u'r like the women that takes most stupid photos of dress up partys. Women acting like little kids playing dress up and party all the time. Know one lady their group made fun of because she took daughters to party just for a meal and didn't offer her any help like food when she was having money problems. I didn't know until after lady took her life. My family seen how they we're long ago and stopped going to the partys. Shameful to all Filipinas pretending to help and care about each other but it's all a joke when there only trying to outdress.

All those things you mentioned is a very common Filipino trait. It is never "what about the future". It's all about instant gratification. That's why you will never see a five or ten year plan for the country, no vision for the future, none.

Even Sotto will react and do things with no thought at all how it will affect him down the road. Scam a new foreign business now for the quick money with no thought of the snow ball effect it will have on others in the future. Women will have unprotected sex for excitement now with no thought of pregnancy.

To them the future is in God's hands or what peso's they can get now and damn everything else. That's why the environment has gone to shit see that takes thought of the future effects of pollution.

When the future comes and the results of their actions catch up with them well they just blame it on someone else "U.S." If they can't blame it on others then they squash the news or "shoot the messenger".

They are irresponsible corrupt lying thieves. Not all mind you but the vast majority is. Don't try to help or set up a business. Just retire and stay out of the shit. God knows enough will land on your doorstep just because your a foreigner.

I know I became a hermit. Definitely can't have a Filipino friend and too many foreigners are just plain too nuts. Hell even going to any kind of party will end up costing me. I tried to help my nieces through college with 100.00 dollars a month but found out I was paying 500 a month because the parents poor mouthed until I was footing the whole bill. Found that out 2 days before I came here. Hell they even moved into a nice place that cost the same rent as Im paying! I told my girl that shit ends when their semester ends.

That was my last vestige of hope that someone was not trying to fu@k me and Ive had it with all Filipino's. I cutoff the free cable I was providing in 5 houses but found out those accounts were still in my name but they are suppose to pay my girl each month and you know how that goes. "I have no money". Fu@k them".

The toxic waste dumping is not the U.S. fault. It is the Malayan-Singaporean greedy Chinese owned husbanding ship contracted to clean up the butt of GI Joe ships. It is time to slap a monstrous fine to this Chinese owned company. The company have to clean up the Whole West Philippine Sea and pay billions of dollars to the Federal State of the Philippines.
