This trial makes me so angry. The defense can't do anything except "sling as much mud" as possible regarding the victim. They think that the more mud they sling, SOME of it is bound to "stick" with the jury.
There ARE abused women who kill their abuser, BUT they don't go into "overkill". They might shoot him, they might stab him once or twice, BUT they don't shoot him, stab him 27-29 times, and then cut his throat.
We can only hope that the jury is comprised of intelligent people who can discern when someone is trying to "pull the wool over their eyes".

Even worse, she did that to try to convince people it was ninjas from his faith coming to do a blood atonement because of his sins. She was most of the reason why he got involved in the activities he was involved in, so why wasn't she issued the same fate? Why? Because it was all b.s. on her part to cover her tracks. I have read he had broken up with her. She had moved back to Yreka. He was trying to get his life back on track.

I wonder what she would have done if he hadn't let her in. Where were his roommates, friends, etc.? Does anyone find it odd that no one looked for him for days, not even the female friend he was taking on the trip to Cancun?

Travis was a motivational speaker, so his friends and family might have thought he was off on some speaking engagement. Maybe someone did try to get in touch with him and just figured he was busy at the time and eventually would get back to them sooner or later. Travis may have not been seeing anyone on a regular basis at the time and it might not have been at all unusual for him to be gone for a few days or so. Not everyone knows someone's schedule or plans. Seems likely though, that sooner or later, they would have begun to wonder where Travis was and that's why after 5 days went by, his friends DID check up on him.
