I thought I was the only one with this... I have been suffering with it for 16 years. (I am 53). I haven't found a doctor who will do anything.

I have been having testicular pain in the left testicle on and off since I had a kidney stone at 19 yrs old (4 yrs ago). Now I have had it this time for about 4 months straight and the right side is getting worse. The pain is also in my legs and hips a bit, as well as in my lower abdomen. Any ideas from you others out there? Thanks.

I have never found anybody with this before today either. My doctor simply told me to take sodium naproxen daily and that there was no pathology behind it nor was there anything he could do or find. He pretty well blew me off. Very frustrating.

In 1993, due to ED had a penile implant. Surgery went fine, no problems. In February 2008, the device was no longer functioning and had surgery in April 2008 for an explant/implant. Post-surgery continued to have testicle pain beyond the normal length of time and it has not gone away. After 4 months, had explant of device to see if that would help. After numerous tests, pain blocks, etc. pain still exists. No one seems to know why. Has anyone tried any alternative medicine procedures to help with the pain. Have your heard about Prolotherapy? There's a doctor in Chicago who specializes in pain management and he recommends this. Drs. want to remove my left testicle to see if that relieves my pain. They won't guarantee this will help and it could make things worse. Don't know what to do. Any comments?

It's actually my boyfriend that has the chronic testicular pain after an appendectomy. I did a lot of research on the topic. Went to multiple hospitals, emergency rooms, 2 urologists and even a neurologist who couldn't find anything wrong. Everyone suggested a pain specialist for nerve block. After about 8 months, I started to think that he had symptoms of an inguinal hernia, but he had no visible bulge down there. I found a private hernia specialist who was able to confirm a small inguinal hernia on his right side. Even got an ultrasound to prove it. Not all Dr's know how to diagnose a small inguinal hernia and these can cause a lot of pain. Even the ultrasound technician needs to be experienced enough to know where to look. All his symptoms add up now that we know what it is: intense pain in testicle, on and off, pain on coughing. Seems to get better when he moves around doing heavy work.
Anyway, if you've already had a hernia, it's possible you may have another on the the other side. Find a specialist who can check you properly (he will "invaginate" the scrotum - he sticks his finger in your inguinal canal to feel for a hernia that doesn't show from the outside).
If that's the case, all you need is a tension-free hernia repair.. Good luck. I hope you find an answer to your problem.Feels like not knowing why you have pain is just as bad as actually having pain.. I really believe that any man with chronic testicular pain should take the time to rule out a hernia, even if there is no bulge. You never know.

Hello, I have the same issues as listed above but on the left side. Pain in my back which almost feels like hip pain. It's as if a nerve runs from my left side down to my testicles and maybe even continues down my leg.
The doctors are almost useless other than bouncing me around between my general, the urologist and the digestive doc. Now I am being referred to a pain management center which - in my mind - only treats the symptoms but doesn't find the root cause.
This is so frustrating. Anyone have any thoughts?
iv been goin through the same problem for 2 years and out of all the dr.s i saw the only one who diagnosed me was the painmanagment dr they are the last resort but i think the smartest of all drs dont give up but make sure you find a good one because from my experience there are alot of bad drs out there who shouldnt have a licence

I've been going through the exact same thing for 3 years but on the left side. Would love to know what you have found works and doesn't work.

Thanks,

Hope you can help! I am male, 52 years old. Chronic periodical right testicular pain for about 15 years. Recently pain has become constant, for over 6 months now. Pain is exacerbated by sexual activity, also by sitting at desk for extended periods.
History of urinary tract infections/prostatitis. No hematuria. No infection. PSA levels normal. Ultrasound reveals small right spermatocele. CT scan reveals very small bilateral calculi. Urology MD consultation assessment: abnormalaties not severe enough enough to cause pain.
Testicular pain is accompanied by right sided pain in low back, right groin, right hip, right flank. Pain radiates down right leg into knee. MRI scan reveals congenitally narrow spinal canal with some facet hypertrophy, some end plate irregularities. Physical Medicine MD consultation assessment: abnormalities not serious enough to cause pain.
Current plan is to have steroid injection in spine just on the CHANCE of relieving testicular pain. In your opinion, do my symptoms absolutely indicate no urologically related problem serious enough to cause testicular pain, and is the plan of treating this as a muscular/skeletal problem the right one?

Testicle pain that is constant. I use to do a pack of a paracetamol a day to no effect. Had two operation to no effect.
The only thing that keeps most of the pain away so I can function is
HOEOPATHY RHODODENDRON 30C

Hi;
first there is a website I visit ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Orchialgia/... ) that gives some support. The other thing is I have been in pain since (1995) my spouse hit me on the right side and placed a lump on my vas defferus. I been thru 2 surgeries and still have pain. I did find that accupunture does give me some relefe. it even stopped one of my pains. try that

I'm 28 years old and I've been having right testicle pain my whole life. The pain radiates to my right knee and lower right back...I remember as a little kid crying in the middle of the night b/c of the pain...I still have the pain quite frequently...I've been to a number of different doctors...A couple said it's due to not drinking enough water. All I drink is water so that didn't help...I've been to urologists and gotten Cat Scan's on the testicle. What they found was a cyst. The urologist thinks that causes the pain and gave me nanopraxen to lower the swelling. The pain comes and goes and if I take an advil, the pain will go away for a few hours. I think this is a chronic pain i will have for the rest of my life...Surgery to remove the cyst may help but i'm not convinced...I'm glad I'm not the only one who has this condition. Stay healthy and post if anyone found something useful to help relieve the pain.

I have just the one testicle remaining and it hurts all the time, 9 years now. At 58 now, I plan to as my urologist to remove it as I am already on T replacement and it is not working anyway. My wife said she's ok with it as she doesn't want me in pain.

I started having some testicular pain last week and it just kept getting worst and worst. I've done a lot of online reading about this and was starting to get slightly freaked out about all the desperate posts without solutions.

I finally found a few posts suggesting fixing your diet (e.g., reduce caffeine intake, drink lots of water, etc.). This made total sense: I had been increasing my coffee intake to about 4 large cups per day and I never drink water.

I reduced my coffee intake and started drinking more water. The pain went away after a day and hasn't come back in the last week.

I've read at least two other posts about people fixing their problem by re-arranging their diet. I'm not sure what the cause is, but it's worth giving it a go.

I have the same problem. It is constant, and shifts from side to side and I can never exactly locate the pain. It hurts in the abdomen and I also have lower back pain. I wear compression shorts because the testicles don't hurt as much when they are raised. I feel like after playing sports the pain is intensified. Doctors have no answers, epiditimitis and hernia were at first diagnosed but later rebuked. This is a horrible and endless discomfort and I really wish there was a remedy, because it is affecting my every day life. PLEASE HELP.

** Update **

It's been quite a while since my original post so I thought I would update. During the summer my pain mostly went away. I was wearing bikini type underwear which really helped since it kept 'the twins' pretty snug. In fact, I hardly noticed anything and started to think this thing had gone away.

About two weeks ago the pain appeared again as well as hip pain. I helped a friend move a treadmill up a couple flights of steps and that might have triggered a back issue that is then related to nerve(s). I also started to feel lousy about the same time with some skeletal pain, sore throat and general exhaustion which is not normal for me. I was under stress at work and at home (lots of company) so that might be something.

My doctor has me trying Valtrex to see if it's viral in nature. He's stumped by the pathology but not willing to give up although he did offer to take out my painful testicle (left) which I graciously declined.

Anyone know of anything that's working?

You guys with constant pain I can only recommend that you stretch daily, keep your weight down, wear bikini underwear and keep fighting to be heard with your docs.

I have had the same issues as most of you guys. Pain with both testicles (right more than left, said pain and back pain and some hip pain. The doctor told me very little except the pain started in my testicles and went to the other parts. My pain has been reduced by cutting out coffee and soda, I only drink water during the day. I will have a beer or two at night or a glass of wine. I also am wearing tighter underwear which has helped as well. I am drinking about 100 ounces of water a day and that has helped a great deal. Good luck guys.
