Hi:
Hope you can help! I am male, 52 years old. Chronic periodical right testicular pain for about 15 years. Recently pain has become constant, for over 6 months now. Pain is exacerbated by sexual activity, also by sitting at desk for extended periods.
History of urinary tract infections/prostatitis. No hematuria. No infection. PSA levels normal. Ultrasound reveals small right spermatocele. CT scan reveals very small bilateral calculi. Urology MD consultation assessment: abnormalaties not severe enough enough to cause pain.
Testicular pain is accompanied by right sided pain in low back, right groin, right hip, right flank. Pain radiates down right leg into knee. MRI scan reveals congenitally narrow spinal canal with some facet hypertrophy, some end plate irregularities. Physical Medicine MD consultation assessment: abnormalities not serious enough to cause pain.
Current plan is to have steroid injection in spine just on the CHANCE of relieving testicular pain. In your opinion, do my symptoms absolutely indicate no urologically related problem serious enough to cause testicular pain, and is the plan of treating this as a muscular/skeletal problem the right one?

Hi there - I am sufferring from almost identical symptoms - i.e. the testicular pain (in my case for 9 months) and lower back pain with swelling and stiffness to the lower right side of my back. I had an MRI scan which revealed slight flattenning of wo disks but they were too low down.

I am going to have an injection soon to my solus muscle in an attempt to see if it is referred pain.

I have had some pain in my testicles since a vasectomy 5 years ago, but nothing serious. After a game of golf in March 2006, the problem suddenly came on.

I am currently under a pain consultant.

Please let me know how you are getting on.

Thanks

Having the same pains in right teste, hip, lower right back. Previously thought related to a large spermatocele which I had removed and pain seemed to subside, however 10 months later it is back and getting progressively worse. Can't find any reason for the pain, and OTC meds don't help much. Did the injection work?
thanks,
Matt

My website about this matter will be online soon:

http://www.testicular-pain.com

I suffer this problem since 2 years ago, unfortunately.
We are so many suffering this problem, that I decided to start a project about it, to give us voice and make pressure over the scientific community, in order to underline the importance of our problem.
All free, it has a social matter, only free donations if you want.
There will be a Forum, it's important that you write your experience in it, and visit it often to receipt news about our problem.

Hello, I have the same issues as listed above but on the left side. Pain in my back which almost feels like hip pain. It's as if a nerve runs from my left side down to my testicles and maybe even continues down my leg.
The doctors are almost useless other than bouncing me around between my general, the urologist and the digestive doc. Now I am being referred to a pain management center which - in my mind - only treats the symptoms but doesn't find the root cause.
This is so frustrating. Anyone have any thoughts?

I have the same issue. Left side groin, testicular, hip, lower back pain... Comes and goes. Worse with sitting after a short period. Been to a regular doctor, a urologist, had two ct scans...nothing. I finally started going to a chiropractor...which seems to be helping a little. I'm not perfect though. Like today, I'm in a bit of pain.

I wish I could figure out what was wrong.

Email me if you have questions / help. tgrk35@gmail.com

Thanks :)

My husband has been suffering from right testicular pain for the last year or so. He has had x-rays, ultrasound and CT scan which all showed nothing. He has been treated through a pain clinic with an injection of local anaethetic and steroids into his abdominal wall which lasted a few months but now has worn off, the second injection hasn't worked at all and is in chronic pain continuously. He can't drive as this makes it worse and the doctors have pretty much washed their hands. We are both getting really frustrated at the dead ends. Any advice on where to turn would be most helpful. We just want our life back.

I am having a similar kind of problems and doctors said they can't do anything. I am a 29 year old male. I had a right inguinal hernia surgery in 2006. After that the pain never went away. I went to so many urologists and they diagnosed that I have Varicocele. I went through another surgery (this time to remove varicocele)and but it didn't work out. From last two weeks I am having too much pain in my left testicle. I went to emergency room last night and no body could find anything. They have given me some pain killers but is not working at all. I am also seeing a pain management specialist but nothing positive as of yet. But my pain in my left testicle is too much. Can anybody help please?
Thanks

Maybe ilioinguinal or genitofemoral nerve entrapment. Seems very common after hernia repair. Especially if a mesh was used. Google it.
Good luck.

After i ejaculate, I have this pain in the nerves that lead down to my left testicle.
I read a little bit everywhere and it seems like I might have a varicocele? Honestly, I don't know what to think since I have not went to see a doctor about it.
I don't think this is related to some sort of STD, otherwise you guys would have came up with that possibility.
I hope this is not irreparable.
Should I go see a doctor or is it pointless?
I basically have the symptoms of a varicocele...
Help me out.

In the last two years of my life I had some major health problems and I would like to have some answers to make good decisions for the future. I am 57 years old, I was born with undescended testicles, which was corrected in my childhood. I am married and have 3 healthy daughters,(20,17,12), my sexual life was good until about 12 years ago when I had vasectomy and removal of hydrocele. The pain in my testicles never went away but I could live with it. I went to my general practitioner and he checked my testosterone level, it was 158. I was started on testosterone replacement (gel) but the ED was not getting any better, so I was prescribed Viagra and the other two ED prescribtions. The side effects were to severe to continue. Then two years ago I had PSA checked and it was 8. Then I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Gleason 7 (3+4). In July 2007 I had radical prostatectomy, no nerve sparing, 3 large tumors, both lobes, no penetration of the outer layer, seminal vesicles and lymph nodes negative. In October 2007 the doctor found mass in my right testicle. After that tests were done, Ultrasound, MRI, CT and other tests. In January 2008 I had penile implant, Artificial urinary sphincter and inguinal orchiectomy of the right testicle. Biopsy showed no cancer. In April I had revision of the pump and tubing and also circumcision of the redundant foreskin, result of the penile shrinkage. My last PSA was not detectable (July 2008). Now my chronic testicular pain in my left testicle is back and it is worse. Also my penile glans are now very small, cold but hypersensitive, where it is very uncomfortable to have sexual intercourse. There is small remnant of frenulum left and it is painful. The question I have is to have some information before I visit my doctor. Can the remnant of the frenulum be removed and would that stop the pain. Can selective neurectomy or HA gel injection in the glans stop the hypersensitivity. With my history of prostate cancer would be good to have orchiectomy on my left testicle. Stop the pain and also use this like adjuvant therapy for PC. Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my question. Erich
PS: my wife is going through 2nd round of chemotherapy for breast cancer (3c)

I have had the same issue, right sided. It started when I was about 19 I had the same round of tests; ultrasounds etc. I had surgery and they said I had bell clapper deformity so they did an orchiopexy on the right. Then when I went back to the urologist's office they said I should do it on the left in case of torsion. That was the explanation I was given by that urologist because the antibiotics etc had not helped. This worked for about 1 year and they did a repeat surgery on the right side again orchiopexy. Then I moved to Japan. The repeat orchiopexy surgery worked for again about a year then I started getting the pains on and off. The doctors in Japan always did tests and nothing came up so I got drugs only. This went on until June 2007 I was 29. The pain became so bad I could not work, stand, walk or sit. Only shots had an effect and they were only for about 4 hours. My wife is a doctor so I was at last able to see a better grade of doctor than I had seen previously. At that point they still did tests and nothing turned up. So due to the level of the pain I elected to go radical and when for the orchiectomy. That was then my 4th time for surgery and the third time on the right side. The pathology report was negative for cancer and still no one knows why I had pain. I will say that I have been basically pain free for 18 months but I would not suggest this option to anyone without trying everything else first. When I was young I trusted doctors and that they knew better, now I have a large amount of scare tissue. Try everything else before surgery!

Conventional pain killers may not kill testicle
pain and its associated other pains.

If it's NERVE PAIN, then something different
may be needed, possibly an anticonvulsant.

Neurontin, Lyrica ... etc.

Check with neurologist.

I have also this pain in the upper part of the left testicle, upper thigh and lower back.
i am currently going through a micro adjustment of my bones around that area with an osteopath. The logic behind this, is that the alignment of my bones currently pinch the nerves whose endings are in the testicle creating this horrible pain.
I am happy to say that it seems to be working. Havent felt anything in a while.

hope this helps
