Good point.

Better treatments for erectile dysfunction:

1. A blow job.

Sounds like a joke, but it is not. A woman with good oral skills, can "wake the dead", or at least a sleepy penis.

2. Open relationships.

The secret prudes dare not mention, is the coolidge effect (Wiki it).

Basically, many men (and male mammals) get BORED. Having sex with a different women, often invigorated the male sex drive.

3. Taking care of your health.

Some guys have a belly so big, they can't even see their penis.

Cut down on fats, exercise, etc...

Natural things that would help would be DHA/Fish Oil and L-Arginine/nitrous oxide supplements.

The whey protein shakes I make have L-Arginine in them. Its still doesn't help me, I tried changing my diet lots, but nothing works. I have about 6% body fat, so I know I'm not over weight. LOL!

6% body fat is very very lean, I'd say as lean as a beef jerky

Well, sometimes a guy's penis just does not work. It is not a mental issue, but a defect or some type of damage to the penis.

I am aware of some of the causes of ED. I just ain't sure what my problem is. The doctor I seen wasn't very helpful. She basically did one test, which was a diabetes test and that was it. Then she gave me a prescription for Cialis to see if that would work. It works very well except for the problem I have with ejaculating. I don't think its psychological because I can't even masturbate without it.

It does not sound like she (your doctor) did very much.

A diabetes test and a prescription for Cialis is not getting deep into the issue.

However, ED among men is very complex.

What she should have done was root out any physical causes. Things like prostrate cancer, kidney disease, nerve damage related to the penis, vascular disease, high cholesterol, alcohol or tobacco abuse, etc...

If she could rule out some obvious physical problem, then that is when you can focus more on the possibility that it is mental.

A number of the physical tests like for prostrate cancer, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc... are relatively easy to do and would be good to do anyway. Questioning you on your habits, like drinking alcohol or excessive smoking, would give a her a better picture.

The Cialis is a pharmaceutical fix. It is their wet dream to have you addicted to their prescription drug, so that any type you want to get an erection or have sex, you need to pop a pill.

It would be better for you, in the long run, if you had a greater understanding of what exactly was going wrong.

Maybe the Cialis is the only answer, or maybe it is something you could have figured out on your own and corrected.

She checked my blood pressure (which is good) and asked if I drank or smoked (I have never smoked and don't drink). My cholesterol should be good too since I'm a vegetarian and I avoid foods that have a high fat content. I am very careful what I eat and try an keep as fit as possible because of this problem. I've never had a prostate examination, but maybe she considered that because I'm young it shouldn't be a problem.

My dear had Viagra for some time. We needed it, as his penis didnīt get the hardness necessary to penetrate my backdoor.( I am blushing. But we are not the only ones, who like this kind of fun.) It worked wonder. My dear got back his confidence in his c..ck.

Now (after 6 months)a blowjob or better him masturbating himself procures the necessary stiffness and massive ejaculations, when and where we want.

Love and sympathy are a great help in any case.

I hope this is a little consolation.

If the Cialis works well and there is no physical causes (including hormonal) that she can find for the ED, than the issue is likely caused by mental issues or arguably a genetic defect.

If it is mental, being in the right kind of relationship with a partner providing the kind of sexual stimulation the person needs can be the trick.

The mind can be very funny. What works could be women with big tits, gay sex, tall women, blondes, interracial sex, anal sex, etc... Maybe the technique of the woman, how the woman acts, etc...

The guy can try to DECREASE his dosage of Cialis/Viagra and see how he performs in different situations. Basically experiment with different types of sex and partners to see if something "clicks" and works for him consistently.

The guy can also go to psychologist or even a hypnotist, and see if they discover anything that might be causing a mental block.

Cialis and the other ED drugs will not help "mental issues". Cialis and the others work at the vascular level and won't produce an erection unless all the other mental and emotional aspects are working correctly. They won't increase your appetite for sex if that appetite is suppressed for some reason.

I think that most of the ED happens due to boredom arsing out of having sex with the same woman again and again. It can also happen if you have a nagging wife who keeps complaining all the time. I had this myself, then I found a really quick "heck" (= a workaround kind of solution ). I wanted some fantasy while having sex with my wife. So, though my conscience did not allow, I went ahead and had sex with another woman for once -- not a prostitute but an masseuse. After that while having sex with my wife, I just needed to think about that one off encounter and I had a hard on immediately. I know this is not a great solution but it worked for me at least much better than be ashamed on the bed.

Good news for male smokers with COPD. Viagra is sometimes given to people with COPD to help their breathing. I'm not 100% sure if it's the heavy breathing they do when they get a hard on, or if it somehow affects their lungs. 0>:~)
PS/ Truth is it incresses the blood flow in the lungs, which allows more 02 to be processed by the lungs.

Or just make him think he has a different woman. Roll play, dress up, surprise him at the door dressed in something unexpected.
