I'm 19 years old and have been experiencing this pain off and on for literally years now. It seems like it's more common now that it used to be. It usually starts when I'm walking around alot. When I was in the 7th grade it used to really hurt while I was walking around the track during P.E. Now it's starting to really interfere with my life and I don't know what to do. It's like a severe pain in my right testicle that actually travels up to around a little below and alot to the right of my belly button. It's like something like a tube that travels from my right nut to around my abdomen is in serious pain. My right nut is always more sensitive than my left. I practially never have probelms with my left. We went to six flags this summer and the pain was so intense that I couldn't walk around anymore and we had to leave. It hurts so badly that it actually makes me nauseated when it hurts and i'm walking while it hurts. I saw a urologist about it and he said it wasn't a big deal and that i probably had some urine stuck in a tube or something. He told me to take ibuprofen for inflamation and apply heat. The utlrasound came back fine as well. One thing that I find different about my case versus others that I've read is that the pain comes and goes. If I lay down or sit for a while it'll subside and doesn't hurt as bad. It hurt when I woke up this morning, though not as intense as normal...and now that i've been sitting for an hour it's okay. Does this situation sound familiar at all to anyone? Oh and I dont have an STD or anything like that either. I'm considering letting them cut me open and see what's wrong, but I'm worried that when they do they wont find anything because sometimes it hurts and other times it doesn't.

I used to sometimes be asleep and dreaming of serious pain in my testicles but couldn't do anything as my body was still asleep and I could feel the pain but my body would not wake (very frustrating to feel such pain and it was like I was paralised as could not get my body to respond to my want to awake and move) and I was not sure if I was dreaming or what, after a while my body would awaken and yes I was having serious testicular pain I would open my legs and not move for about 10/15minutes and the pain would subside. This happended many times and every time the same routine could feel the pain body not responding then eventually it did then I would relax and move into comfortable position and pain subside. I got more clever and when was asleep and started to feel the pain I knew it was real and my mind was awake but my body wasnt and started to work ways out to get my body to awake quickly so I could adjust and sort out the pain. I worked out that it was always when my legs were pushed together obviously trapping my genitals and stopping something operating as it should do. Now I always go to bed and when on my side and my legs together I push the duvet between my knees to keep a gap between my legs and since doing this have never had this sensation repeated, its second nature for me to do the duvet between knees routine now. Its more then worth it to end the pain and anxiety of not being able to do anything as body wouldnt respond. Good Luck.

Yes, mine is exactly like that. I'm 18 but have never been to the doc about it, though I am considering it.

Im 18,I have pain as well its in my right testicle and my lower back right on my bum hurting like hell whenever I walk or get up from bed or stay in bed or go out and sit. Have to take a shower everytime for heat to get rid of the pain alittle bit and take pain killers as well I didnt think it would have been from wanking to much but been reading alot it just might be. Been at the gym lifting weights had it for about 4 months now quit the gym for a while if its pain from that it should be gone by now. Seen the doctor for a blood test and x-ray he said I was fine had my testicles checked they were fine, thinking of stopping wanking for a while if I can but I cant help it all the time. I know the pain your feeling cant get up at all from bed and its taking over my life as well as I do catering have to stand up all day taking loads of days off, so far I can only think of heat as the best thing to do taking showers using a massage mat on your bed or a heated light or using those heat bags but still cant stop the pain from getting up from bed.

Ok, here is my story, When i was laying in my bed 2 weeks ago i had my legs laying on top of each other and i lifted my right leg to stand up and it was so painful I wanted to cry.. Now when I am sitting down it doesn't hurt at all if i move my leg against it or touch it in the wrong way (IT IS ONLY MY RIGHT TESTICLE) It hurts and it goes up to the right side of my stomach. It isn't that bad of pain but it is really annoying and I am considering going to the doctor cause it's been weeks on end.

Ok so I have started having pain in my LEFT nut, Its been on and off for a while now. If my gf runs her finger up my left leg, my left nut moves up, likes jumps up, and hurts. But only left one moves, similarly the right one does the same thing if right leg is touched but, doesn't move as far up or hurt. I also have pain in my groin and have had lower back pain for MANY years.. Also left nut swells sometimes, and on occasion me and my gf can feel a small lump, but it comes and goes. I am in my early 20's, worried about testicular cancer. Probably need to see a doctor, but no $

My advice to most of the guys on here is that you really need to go to a doctor. Remember, when you have a hernia there is not always pain involved. I had a double hernia when I was 20 years old. My right testicle was almost twice the size of a golf ball before I sought medical attention. I never had an ounce of pain associated with the condition. If your testicle is enlarged it could be a hydrocele, which isn't a huge deal. But it could also develope into a hernia, which can kill you. Not having insurance is not an excuse. If you go to a hospital they have to examine you. They cannot turn you away because you are poor. I would much rather have a collection agency calling my phone than to have my mother crying over my casket. Your health is more important than money.

Jason, a hernia killing you is quite unlikely. I've seen cases in third world, where patients have presented with a history of hernia for 30-40 years. The only time you need to really worry about a hernia is it gets strangulated.
There are various differential diagnosis that can be the cause here;
a hydrocele (although normally its not very painful)
infection of the vas defferens
ureteric colic
and even appendicitis in rare cases

Please do check with your consultants rather than looking for answers online.

Good luck

I'm regularly getting woken up in the middle of the night with an intense pain in my right testicle. It only hurts during the middle of the night and never during the daytime. It hurts really bad for about 30 min then goes away and I can fall back asleep. Does this happen to anyone else and does anyone know what the cause of this is? Thanks for any advice

the swelling and lump are probably a varococele I was just diagnosed with one there nothing to worry about just annoying and can be fixed if you want! Hope this helps!
