Hi. I'm writting a report on reflexology, but so far, none of the sites on the net that I've visited have been benefical for me. I'm looking to hear from some proffesional reflexologists who can answer the following questions;

-What kind of training/education did you recieve. Where did you get it?
-How you got intrested.
-What the high/low points are of your job.
-If you took a college course(s), did you take other classes, related to reflexology?

Thank you! If we do discuss the abovementioned topics, you will be quoted and credited.

In the United States the standard of education is 200 hours of reflexology-only training. Courses are usually available in a private school (often a massage or bodywork school), and sometimes within a college. You would do well to contact the folks at the American Reflexology Certification Board http://www.arcb.net or the folks at the Reflexology Association of America http://www.reflexology-usa.org for more information on this modality and professions.

I studied with the IARMT in South Africa. We do 2 years which includes, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. We did 10 x 10 hours research on one illness and 5 x 5 hours various illnesses.

There is now talk of it becoming a 3 year course here in SA.

But as any therapist one never stops studying so I now have about 20 certificates etc in a variety of modalities to my credit including a current first aid one as it is required in order to register with our Allied Health Professions Council as a Therapeutic Reflexologist.
