I don't know what feedback the Strawberry Board members are getting since it is almost impossible to contact any of them since it is I believe the only public Board in Marin that refuses to publish phone numbers, email addresses or any contact information for any of the Board members.

I have received several phone calls and emails and was even stopped by a resident in the Strawberry Safeway all of whom were concerned about the direction of the District.

While summer camp revenue (and expenses) may have increased, pool revenue and other program revenue is down due to the lack of activities and programs in Strawberry

I had high hopes for Strawberry when Jeff Francis and the other Board members came on the Board 3 1/2 years ago. Unfortunately, by next month all the District will have t so show for it is the forced departure of 100% of its experienced staff, a new pool entrance and a few other cosmetic touches and less programming and activity than anytime in the 37 years in which I have lived in Strawberry.

Fielding G, ya big maroon, now you and your MUTA fools have gone way too far. You know nothing about MGH's governance, its business plan, its mission, nor its challenges. Go and spend some time at the hospital, maybe even as a patient in ICU, and you'll see what's real. Give MGH a chance and let our community have the good hospital it deserves.

Fielding is pointing out how the district has set the hospital up to run as a private corporation with a board who has financial interests in the hospital and don't want to meet in public (this is true, Fielding is not wrong). Why shouldn't this corporate board created and given power by the district meet in public like every other district appointed hospital board in California? Spending time at the hospital in ICU or anywhere else does not change the corporate governance that Fielding is concerned about. He's the head of the local taxpayer watchdog group--so it is natural that he is concerned about a lack of transparency in the governance at our public hospital, especially when this same type of arrangement resulted in millions of dollars of profit being transferred out of Marin General to Sutter's corporate account. I share Fielding's views and that is why I am running for the district board in the November election.

The best thing about Marin General is its close proximity to UCSF. Just keep on driving south on U.S. 101. It's only an extra 20 minutes to a world reknown hospital.
