Some, not all doctors do not give a damn about their patients. I'd rather not go at all if I could get away with it.
They have one foot out the door, don't listen to you, and are thinking about the next dollar, I mean patient going in.
I wish I had an answer.

If Kentucky Fried Chicken could not keep up with their free give away advertised on Oprah, how will our very limited health care keep up with social medicine?

I go both ways on this debate but this article makes things scary. Don't categorize me because I haven't made my mind up yet.

Incentives must be given to folks going into family practice or what used to be called general medicine.
Metropolitan areas, with a hospital or clinic on every other block, will always have tons of specialists. More specialists equal more tests and treatments and equal more $$$$.

Moving from the east coast to Nevada opened my eyes about rural health care. Rural America is often
hours away from medical care ( these are the wide open spaces, folks ). There has to be a process by which these people - most are poor- have access to primary care.

There are programs for Drs. who are willing to work on our Indian reservations for a certain period of time by which their schooling debt is forgiven. Let's expand that premise to encourage more primary care physicians all across the country.

A doctor shortage? I guess this explains why I had to wait over an hour past the time of my doctor appointment. Doctors who overbook patients are extremely inconsiderate. Maybe if the cost of medical school wasn't so expensive, they would attract more students. It seems as if hospitals are overloaded with foreign interns who go back to their country after they get their medical degree here. It's time to give consideration to americans who want to become doctors but can't afford the years of schooling.

To become a doctor it's a difficult task and very expensive, it's a life of self sacrifice and very altruist if you are going to be a human doctor, and not one who will study to become rich and heartless...!

You only had to wait an hour, you got lucky. I waited two hours to see a local dermatologist, and it is damn inconsiderate. Family medicine isn't around much anymore, everyone is a specialist so it seems. It would be smart of the government to assist American students that go to medical school with some kind of grant or whatever, if they sign an agreement to open their practice here in this country. As far as foreign doctors that are in the area hospital's emergency rooms, I don't know about anyone else, but I sure as hell have a hard time communicating with them, but somehow they manage to get into medical schools in the USA. If an American student has the smarts to go on to study medicine, we should be helping them out.

If you think there is a doctor shortage now, imagine how it will be when the government takes over with wage restrictions. Currently, malpractice insurance rates are so high that people are discouraged from the profession while the ambulance chasing lawyers get rich with outrageous lawsuit awards. As long as there are so many lawyers in Congress this problem will not be fixed. True health care reform is impossible without addressing this issue.

ALL YOUR PEOPLE??? Daniel, Everybody hates you. You are the biggest troublemaker on any of these threads and have caused more threads to be removed that all others combined. You stalk and harass many people on the forums, mostly poor woman, which has caused the CT Post to ban many of your dozens of screennames. You offer nothing of substance to any thread that you post on. You are a delusional troll and it is you who will be banned AGAIN.

And WHY do you think that anyone who doesn't like you is that Owen guy that you are obssessed (or in love) with. Someday he might actually have you arrested like Joel did. And, I'm not Scamual Watcher either, although I dislike you for all the same reasons. Completely differant IP, or were you to stupid to notice that?

I have tried to tell him neither poster is TD but he has a one track mind.He is the one reason the posts are being taken down but he does not realize that. I am ignoring him as it is not worth talking to someone that does not make any sense.
