Wow that lady sounds crazy. She pushed a button 151 times on baby. That is nuts. She should be put in prison. I am surprised the kid survived.

MRH is quite possibly the worst hospital in the free world.
Inept and uncaring.

I would be little hesitant to allow someone named "raven" do medical tests on me or my child.

Wow! John Edwards must have opened a law practice in Humboldt County. Well expect medical charges to escalate or the C-T scanner to shut down as a result of this lititgation. Just more justice being gained by lawyers through everyone else's pocketbooks. The Roths just won the lottery.

Mad River is the worst hospital, the few times i have had the misfortune of having to go there its always been filthy and the people dont know what there doing. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know you DO NOT push the button on a baby or anyone else that many times. and for them to say its no big deal that the baby had burns on his face.... are they all high????

Big-Time $$$$$$$, make the hospital's insurance firm pay for terminally damaging that infant. I'd start looking in SF for an atty specializing in medical malpractice.

I place in my wallet "In case of Emergency please transport to Saint Joesph" I rather be flown to a Tijuana hospital than Mad river. The place is filled with physicians and nurses that act like chickens with their heads cut off. No organization, NO TRUST. Its very professional and comforting at Saint Joes.

I've heard a multitude of horror stories about Mad River over the years. If at all possible, go to St. Joseph's or EVEN BETTER: the Bay Area.

Humboldt County medical care is dangerous to your health. You would be better off driving yourself out of the area than being treated locally. Humboldt County is full of medical quacks that couldn't get jobs anywhere else. Patients beware!!!! So sorry this innocent little angel is yet another victim of our deficient medical community.

Mad River is a hack shop, not a hospital!!! Their administration is famous for 'sweeping it under the carpet'. After our own experience with these hacks, I wouldn't recommend anyone to use their services! Pray for the child to overcome this!

the person that nuked this poor kid should be in jail. This little fragile baby most likely will not survive his injuries. The radio tech should be up on manslaughter chargers when that happens.
They can arrest and charge the person that accidently killed roger rodoni in a car crash that was truly an accident. This was an accident too, but she should be held to the same standards if their actions caused serious bodily injury.

The family should be awarded millions. This kid is high risk for cancer all his life now. Just one C.T.scan in a child needs a complete risk vs benefit analysis.
Criminal charges should be filed. This is so out of the relm of standard of care.
Makes me sick.

Not all health care providers in our community are "hacks," unfortunately mistakes happen every day in hospitals across the nation. At the very least, Mad River acted quickly by firing the tech whose mistakes injured the patient. Based on available data, it seems she was appropriately trained and credentialed; Mad River hired a well-trained employee who later suffered a severe lapse in professional judgment. Why is she not being charged with a crime? Why is the hospital being singled out and not the individual responsible? Like it or not, but Mad River fills a need in our community. St. Joe alone can't service all our health care needs...

Mad River has long history of major problems. From the 70's when an appendectomy went wrong on a 12 year old girl due to the anethesiologist being drunk. She died. Then there was the young woman who had been shot with a shotgun. She died from air in her artery line. Then there was the guy who fondled men and women when they were in recovery room. And then doctored the records to make it look better when they found out the police were coming.

IT'S TRUE. THEY HAVE GOT TO BE THE WORST PLACE TO GET ANY TYPE OF MEDICAL CARE. MYSELF AND MY FAMILY HAVE BEEN TREATED THERE, AND WE HAD THE WORST SERVICE. ONE TIME, MY SON HAD TO GET STICHES ON HIS LIP, AND THERE WERE DIRTY SYRINGES EVERYWHERE ON THE FLOOR, AND STAFF JUST GIGGLING AND GOOFING OFF. VERY UNPROFESSINAL. I WOULD BE ASHAMED TO BE EMPLOYEE THERE. I KNOW AT LEAST 4 PEOPLE THAT DIED IN THERE CARE, AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE CARE THEY DIDN'T RECIEVE.

Please people. I wish I was stunned that you have all accepted the recounting of events from an attorney. Every "fact" in this story comes from him with the exception of the suspension of the technician. And we do not have any facts about that. Also we assume that the technician pushed the button 151 times because a flippin' attorney said so? Was He or the Parents counting? I think the source may be suspect.
Of course the hospital and the technician may be guilty as hell.
I just hope the little guy is ok.
