Middle age is no longer a time of security and emotional well-being for many people. Companies downsize or go out of business, jobs and health insurance are lost, health problems begin, marriages end and now add to that what has happened to home and 401K values. Rather than focusing on drug abuse or lack of hormones perhaps the focus should be on these societal factors which contribute to a lack of hope.

Agree with the first poster. Yet another unintended consequence of the sexual revolution. We have destabilized thousands, if not millions, of years of cultural and biological evolution in the space of 80 years. Certain aspects of human relationships were not meant to be altered through well-intended legislation. Only time will tell if our aspirations can be realized or if they will destroy us as a society.

I wouldn't be too concerned with the money thing. We live better than 90% of the world. Most of the world still lives in cardboard boxes and shacks.
