"We may be creating a new type of smoker that may be more durable, that are adapting to smoke-free environments and to changing social norms."

.....said the creepy CDC guy.

People go to college- take "social science" type courses- and start seeing their country as a giant [email protected] antfarm.

THIS SINISTER WORLDVIEW OF THOSE RUNNING THE GOVERMENT IS FAR MORE DESTRUCTIVE TO THIS SOCIETY THEN ANY KID REBELLING BY LIGHTING UP A FEW TIMES A DAY.

Also, while the REAL education of America declines the government spends money on such brainwashing. I think courses in propaganda should become prerequisites for high school graduation. I know that governments and marketing agents won't like it but it would sure be a plus in establishing an intelligent society.

I doubt there will be any federal programs though.

The only thing they are creating is LIARS. I would guess that a good 80% of my friends smoke, and lie about it.

I am a teen,(19 actually) I smoke. I never admit it anywhere, not to my parents, not to the doctor, not on surveys or job apps. Super Secret Super Private. No more will I allow myself to be databased.

Chances are that you are already in multiple databases as both smoker and liar. Your olfactory sense might not be alerting you to it, but smokers stink. "Super secret" is laughable.

This is, as noted in the article, a net positive effect over the time period in terms of cigarettes smoked by teens.

An 11-percent drop in those who smoked more than 10 cigarettes a day vs a 12-percent drop in those who smoked between 1 and 5 cigarettes a day and those who only occasionally smoked at all.

The 12% isn't a good thing, but the general trend is--and smoking regs are part of that trend.

Sorry, Bubba. Your opinion of your own relevance continues to be over-inflated. Good choice of attitude in your user name choice.

I am vaguely bored by you, but I wouldn't say I was angry--so I guess you "other-than-win" this time.

Facts are facts, though. The tobacco industry pumped a LOT of money into trying to manipulate the smell of tobacco smoke, because THEY know it stinks. Hospitals have begun firing people for showing up smelling of tobacco smoke.

Yes, smokers stink. It isn't a snide comment or a dissing insult or hyperbole, and it doesn't take an angry person to note it.

Of course, if you need "my" anger to rationalize your failure to beat the addiction, knock yourself out. That's another "secret" people may humor you about.

My, my, maybe your opinion of yourself IS realistic, if you think people would have to be paid to engage in a dialogue with you.
