Dr Bassichis is amazing - probably the best facial plastic surgeon in Dallas. I have done rhinoplasty (primary), laser CO2 resurfacing, filler, botox, and neck liposuction....and loved the whole experience and especially the results. Good Luck!

I don't know what credentials upon which you base your "opinion," however I am also a physician and a grateful patient of Dr. Bassichis as well. I have had skin cancer reconstruction, a facelift, and a rhinoplasty and I look and feel very healthy and fabulous. Dr. Bassichis is a nationally recognized expert by his peer physicians and I entrust him to care for me as well as my family and friends. You should be mindful to keep your opinions polite on this board.

Leigh, you are clearly bipolar.. go find something better to do with your time than sit on forms and attack Dr. Rohrich. Grow up and get over it!!! It's so sad how much time you spend posting negative comments, go do something productive with your life because I don't think anyone is listening to your fluffy. Go away!!
Dear Melissa, you should take your own advice.

Stay away from Dr. Cochran. I did a lot of research before my surgery, but he botched my nose. It is twisted and overprotected and nothing like the simulated picture. Looking back, I get the feeling he does a lot of marketing online, having people write fake reviews and recommendations. If you think about it, you rarely see any photos with the people recommending him. I think he is quite junior as a specialist, trying to build up experience after Gunter's retirement. My nose job was the biggest mistake of my life. Beware.

I asked Dr Rohrich to keep my profile (I loved the tip of my nose) I just wanted the nostrils a little smaller. I didn't expect that I would lose my profile all together. It really looks like somebody smashed my nose with a frying pan. I also, of course did not ask him to please give me irreversible scars noticeable by everyone. I would say to please think twice about using Dr. Rohrich and I can send pics to justify my nightmare.
Thanks
Wow I'm looking into revision rhinoplasty w him. Can you send pics?

I am so confused when I read all the comments regarding particular physicians. I am seeking a revision rhinoplasty specialist and I just met with Dr. Rohrich. He seemed on the top of his game and I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him. Then when you start searching the internet, no matter who the Dr, there always seems to be some horror stories mixed in with the good. Is there a Dr out there without any negative press? If so, they must delete it. I know not every surgery can be perfect and complications do arise, I just need to decide between Doctors. Right now I am choosing Dr. Rohrich over Dr. Gunter. Any thoughts? BTW, I need a secondary with ear cartilage grafts and Dr. Gunter wanted to use rib. Dr. Rohrich assured me that I would have enough ear and that rib looks unnatural. UGH!!! Decisions!!
Sara how did your surgery turn out?

I have one sister that used Cochran in Dallas for a revision rhino and another that used Bassichis for a primary nose job. Both were amazing. I would not go to Rohrich - I hear that he is not the nicest and the results do not stand the test of time. Best of luck.

Leigh, your concerns sound very valid to me. I'm sorry for what you had to go through. As far as the unkind name calling you have been subjected to, I imagine it it from a company or person that doctor has hired to repair his reputation. I see no reason that anyone trying to obtain information would call a person wacko or bipolar.
If anyone has any suggestions for a good revision specialist in the US, please pass it on.

I ended up using Dr Cochran and it was great. He used ear cartilage. I always wonder what it would look like had a used the right dr in the first place. I knew I was finally over my horrible first surgery with Dr Toledo when I could delete all the awful pictures I had taken of myself to look at the worst decision I had ever made in my life when I chose Dr Toledo the first time. It was a very dark time:(. But anyway I could not be happier and anyone who knows or meets me would ever guess I've had two rhinoplasties. Also I think Cochran has great patient bedside manner. Just my experience.

Need some objectivity added to this discussion.

Is the doctor board certified in plastic surgery (by the ABMS)??

Jack P. Gunter = Yes
C. Spenser Cochran = NO!
Rodney J. Rohrich = Yes
Diane Gibby = Yes
George A. Toledo = Yes
Ben Bassichis = NO!

For correctness, Dr Bassichis is boarded by an equivalent subspecialty board namely the AMERICAN BOARD OF FACIAL PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

I interviewed all the famous rhinoplaty surgeons in the USA - there are only 5 ! and Dr Rohrich was by far the best of the best. He was kind, honest and a superb doctor and really helped to restore my nasal shape and function. I am so glad I found him . Dr Rohrich restored my faith in doctors. He is simply the best of the best in what he does. I have referred dozens of my friends to him- all with similar results .
Can you share the 5 top surgeons names you interviewed ? Was it a secondary rhinoplasty?
Why did u choose Dr. Rohrich?

Well.... for correctness, that is not an equivalent certification. Calling it an equivalent is misleading. That certification is not recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or put another way, it is not a widely recognized medical specialty within the medical community nor within accredited medical education institutions. Despite the name, it's not even a recognized subspecialty within plastic surgery.

TRUE medical specialties (and subspecialties) are listed here:

http://www.abms.org/member-boards/specialty-s...

The "American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" is what is known as a self-designated board. Literally anybody can create a board like this and start signing up members. There are lots of these types of boards, but the difference is that a TRUE board certification from ABMS requires the doctor go through many years of training in an accredited residency program, followed by a very difficult standardized written and oral board exam.

Dear Carla,

I am considering Dr. Rohrich can you please send me pictures. This is a revision rhinoplasty for me. My nose is crooked and the tip droops... but I don't want it worse. I had a closed rhinoplasty. This time an open rhinoplasty is recommended. So scarring does worry me.
