I had my lift on May 7, 2008 and it is now May 9. I do have some pain behind my ears and around my eyes where I had upper and lower bleph with laser to tighten up my baggy lower eyes. I have spent a lot of time in a recliner with a neck rest like for air travel. It is hard to chew so I am eating soft foods and taking tiny bites. My chin looks great but eyes are still bruised and swollen. I would NOT go out in public w/o large dark glasses and a scarf. AT home, I wear the ace around my chin and face, with gauze pads under it around my ears. I keep ointment on my eyes, ice often and clean with gauze and solution starting today. I dook a bath today and could have washed my hair but decided to put that off til the weekend. I am getting my stitches and staples out next Weds and return to work half day Thurs and Fri. I may be in the dark glasses etc for work but we shall see. I cannon imagine all this time without any exercise but those are the orders. I do walk around my house and did a load of laundry and will go outside later today. That is it for now.

I went for the free consultation last week and was appalled from the very first phone call at how canned the presentations were--even the phone people transferred me 10 times and all had same lines: "just bring your beautiful smile." Once at the office, the physician's rep (salesperson) went through a powerpoint show with lots of pix but few facts, pulled my face up and exclaimed "0h how gorgeous you will look." I asked to speak to a doctor--she resisted, and ultimately said I could if I paid a $500 deposit. Then I could see the doc on Wednesday if I commited to have the lift on Thursday. I was a bit swept up and agreed to the Wednesday appointment but specifically declined the Thursday procedure. I did see the doctor yesterday, who provided a great deal of information, much of it in direct conflict with what the sales person provided. For instance, I'd go home with a full head bandage (contrary to the sales photos that insist "no bandages.") I'd be black and blue, potentially for 2 weeks or more. To his credit, the doc actually discouraged me from doing the eye job I had asked about--said it's pretty rough to sit in a chair for 4 hours without moving, while someone injects lydocaine into your eyeballs and waves a scalpel in your eye. As I left, the scheduler remarked that I'd be coming back the next day for surgery, which I had said at least l0 times I would not. Now I'm getting calls several calls about when I'm scheduling my procedure. I think I'll just opt out, even if I lose my deposit. These high-pressure tactics are so unprofessional.
I was just wondering....did you ever get your deposit back after you saw the doctor? I went in today for consult. The woman asked me for $675 in order to see the Doctor prior to proceedure. I was shocked to pay prior to even seeing the doctor. I ended up paying because she said I could get a refund if I choose not to go through with the proceedure. After reading all this negative comments..I think I will not go though with it. Im worried that I wont get the money back. Did you ask yet for your refund of deposit?

i came across video diary of life lift procedure.
http://www.llvideojournal.com/video2.html

i have not done it yet. it seems it depends on your surgeon. look for "board certified plastic surgeon". the doc i have beeninterested in is a "board certified in Otolaryngology".(not quite the same???)

they are definitely avoiding commitment of how long does it take to recover and how long will it last. i know everyone is different. the results i have seen (including my consultation adverser) looked great and not pulled.

request: when you write your reviews can you write your age and if you had other optional services done. i am 44 and just need a little lift. i am hoping the less you need the less healing time. THANKS
check out the video & make sure you let it load all the way to view them correctly.

I just read a bunch of comments in here about Lifestyle Lift advertising. The whole debate was totally confusing to me. Who cares what anyone's advertsing is or where it is? Advertsing will always be advertising. The only thing that counts is hearing from patients..
I just got the Lifesyle Lift Diary and if you read it you know it's written by a totally trustworthy person. Also, LLDiary.com has no advertising at ALL on the site. Even without buying the thing I knew the person who wrote it was very likely selling her story to help other people, just as she says. That's because her site isn't filled it ads trying to make money off people who click through.

Hi!
I have an appt with Dr. Chen in San Mateo for a consult. Who did your surgery? Are you happy with it?
Thanks

I am searching the internet trying to find reports on procedures done in the San Mateo office. I have an appointment to have the surgery done with Dr. Chen in San Mateo in about a month. I would like to find someone who has had the surgery from him. I felt like he was very professional and seemed to have good credentials. I am very unimpressed with the office staff and the unprofessional attitudes they show. Getting someone to return a phone call is impossible. They also don't seem to keep records very well. Any comments would be appreciated

I was seriously considering to make an appointment for LSL. But after reading all the comments on different sites, I have decided against it.
It is a medical procedure, on the most visible place on my body, I do not want to discuss anything regarding this with sales people. I want to meet with a dr instantly. This is a huge red flag. Why do competent drs need pimps?...think about it.....I have....and realized you get what you pay for.....
I feel exactly the same way about not seeing a doctor before you have the procedure. When I went in for the appointment, I asked to see a doctor but was told he was busy seening other patients. I was pressured into signing a contract and asked for money up front which I paid. Now I am tryihg to get my deposit refunded.

Hi Diane, I just paid my deposit yesterday, am scheduled for Feb.
I am wondering if I should cancel after reading some of the comments on this site.
Doctors in San Mateo seem to have great credentials, and are all board cert, alot of people seem to think lsl uses non board cert docs. I don't know what to think?
Are you still going to do it?
How does the average lift cost?

How much does the average life cost? Is it worth it? Is there a great deal of pain?

My wife is considering having the LSL performed in Westbury, NY and is scared after reading many comments on the internet. She is concerned about the pain during and after the procedure, the recovery time period, swelling, scars and satisfaction. Please reply if you can help.

I had a lifestyle lift procedure Oct 29, 2008, 2 lifts took 9 hrs, I was the first person there at 6:30 am. I still have extreme pain around my ears, one earlobe is fused to my neck the other is totally disconnected, just flops around, I also have a long scar on my neck, where there was a huge bubble, that the dr pushed with his fist instead of trying to drain. And it cost 8,000.00.

Where did you have this done? I find your story hard to believe. If you have $8,000 to spend on surgery you surely have enough money to hire an attorney, because it sounds like you have grounds for a lawsuit.

I am scheduled to have LSL at the Denver Office the end of April and am thinking of cancelling due to all the negative comments. I am taking a week off from work for this procedure and expect to be back at work with no sign of surgery...is this possible? I have read so much negative feedback on scaring, pain, and disfiguration. Has anyone in Denver had the procedure done and are happy with the results?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I ended up not getting the procedure done. On my way to my first consultation there was a bad accident on 238. I sat in my car for an hour and then had to call and cancel. It was all for the good, I am so glad I did not have it done. The doctors doing this are trying to circumvent the rules regarding plastic surgery and it seems most of them botch the job. Note to self: If you are having a problem getting people to call you back even before the surgery, you can bet it will be much worse after you give them your money and they go on their way. Find a different alternative to this surgery.
