Botched Hip Replacement. Implant much too large, must be replaced.

I had left total hip replacement surgery June 2011. After 8 months my pain level is increasing. I sought the opinions of two other Ortho Surgeons. I was told by these two Orthopedic Surgeons whose speciality is hip replacement that after 8 months I should not be in any real pain. Both Orthopedics did x rays and both tell me that the hip inplant done in June 2011 is much too large for me, and will most likely have to be replaced! The total cost of the operation in June of 2011 to my insurance (medicare) was just under $100,000.00. I am having the right hip replaced in April as both my hips were needing to be replaced. My chosen Ortho Surgeon for my right hip tells me that in July we should replace the left hip inplant. My questions are: Is the Ortho Surgeon that did the total hip replacement on my left hip in June 2011, and botched my surgery by using a replacement device much to large liable in any way to me? Should I seek legal help?

Yes totally! you need to seek for legal action on this matter because of medical malpractice among doctors who conduct this kind of surgical procedure with minimal exposure to the field. Visit http://www.hiprecalllaw.com/ for more info.

Even after a hip replacement surgery, there are reports that it only worsens the health condition of the patients. After the surgery, complications are slow consuming the patient because of the defective device implant in their body. http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com , this site will help you have a better understanding about the product.

I had total hip replacement Feb. 27th. 2013. My kneecap is numb and feels like a cord running in front of that knee and up into my inner thigh are "asleep". Doc said it was normal, and may last upwards to 6 months. This is the newly operated on leg. Had the other hip done 7 yrs. ago with no problem. Comments?

For Nancy:It would have been good to know the type of implant you used when you had the hip surgery. It has been reported recently that failures were very high with implants using the metal-on-metal such as the DePuy ASR hip systems. It may be best to have it checked regularly by your doctor for any possible complications. If materials used were other than metal, it might be possible that it is part of the recovery process. On the other hand, it may also be a complication since ordinarily, there is a 10 percent failure rate for hip surgeries. It would be best to make sure by seeing your doctor. You may also want to learn more about hip implant complications by checking out DePuy ASR hip lawsuit information center.

If you had the hip replacement surgery last January or four months ago, by now you should be free of any pains and discomfort. It might be best to see your doctor about this condition. While there, you may also ask the type of implant used. Other patients are wary of the all-metal implants due to the high failure of these products. You can learn more about this in DePuy Settlement Information Center.

Just wondered if you got sorted out?
I have been advised that my hip resurfacing implant is a little too large and a little too forward.
What sort of pain did you get?
Any info. you can provide would be appreciated.

I had total hip replacement over 6 months ago. I keep thinking I'm getting better but know that I am not. I'm going back to my hip surgeon again? What do I ask?
My hip replacement leg is 1 inch longer than my right leg causing me very bad pain and I'm still on pain medication.
My pain is in back, hip, front leg running down side of leg and ankle! Help?

My right hip was replaced in May 2012 and after 8 months the pain returned and has gotten increasingly worse. I went back tot he original surgeon for a full year with no help. I have seen 2 other Ortho surgeons and none of them will admit that the hip is too big. I am not a big person and they put in the biggest hip made. No attorney will take my case because surgeons are so busy covering for each other they will not admit what is wrong. I have lived in pain for the past 5 years. Did you Shannon get resolution? If so how? Your input and advice may help me. Thank you so much!

I am having the same problem I had a total hip replacement on my right side and now there's pain when I walk and it goes down into my knee I think there's two things rubbing my muscles when I walk it hurts like hell and nobody seems to understand so I guess I'll just have to go find another orthopedic surgeon and find out I'm sure my hips too big I weigh a hundred pounds I think it's for a 200 pound man I had mine done in April 2014 and I've been having problems ever since
