We are currently using Compulink office software and are looking at initiating EMR. We're trying to explore all software options and are intrigued with OD Pro from EMR Logic. Can anyone give me any feedback on it?

We've been compulink for years, and are also looking at EMRLogic to go paperless as well, Did you switch?

Here is a new website devoted to technical aspects of biomedical device integration into EMRs:

Biomedical Device Integration Tech Corner
http://bmdi-tech-corner.com

An archive of technical documents, protocols, standards and procedures useful for clinical engineers and IT professionals involved in biomedical device integration and connectivity to electronic medical records (EMR).

Don't do it! It's a trap! Outstanding unresolved billing issues. Visionweb integration problems. Error codes that are attributed to our server (our 24 gb ram, 2 tb hard drive server). It takes days to get answers/support. Very bad experiences here but we're stuck with it. On a plus the spectacle order and scheduling are good. Their tech support needs professional help.

For those considering EMRlogic, I am an Account Manager at EMRlogic and we have just successfully implemented our fully integrated (PM, Optical, Exams: instrument linking, ePrescribing) activEHR solution at a large university.
For more information on activEHR please feel free to contact me:

This is the worst system I have ever used. It is not user friendly in any way. I am decent with computers and this system is downright horrible. Constant issues. Nothing is easy to do. The flow is ridiculous. Stay clear of this or tremendous frustrations and stress will follow. We just got off the phone with their "tech support"... they seemed to know less than we did. After about 4 holds totaling about 25 minutes and asking which store we were 3 times... they said they would call us back since they couldn't figure out how to connect to us.

This was a 20,000 mistake for me. I had researched it thoroughly and was sold that this was the best system. I have a very young computer savvy staff and we had nothing but problems. Their support and knowledge of what an optometry office needs is horrible. After several office visits and headaches I cut my losses and got office mate my staff picked it up in a week on their own using online training they provide and we are now very satisfied. Od pro in a nut shell... Great sales horrible delivery

On the recommendation of one of our providers, we chose this software for our new practice back in 2003. Thereafter, I referred to this software program as "OD Nightmare"- after several very stressful months, we also cut our losses and found a new software program. Doesn't sound like they've improved upon things. I would steer clear.
