I am 15 years old , male. No one in my family has ever had any problems with sight .
My sight problems are mild , just enough to be noticed , but for a while now I am having trouble seeing things I normally could , like a license plate on a car, it gets worse if there is light around. On an ophthalmology test I barely fail at the last row of letters . When they put drops in my eyes for a better analise , they saw +0.25 which is very close to normal, but it should indicate hipermetropia or far sighted-ness which is quite the opposite of my problems . The doctor said I should see fine and just said I was tired . But I quit watching tv or the computer and still the same problem ... I see very clearly with my friend's glasses with -0.50 and anti reflecting lens ... Any ideas /tips on what I should do would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

Dear anonymous, Glasgow,
I am a dutch opticain specialized in optical problems of our visual system. I'd like to help, but I need more information. If you are willing to give the info, please answer the next questions as specific as you can.
1. Do you wear spectacles ? If so, please mail all numbers/ values of the lenses !
2. What exactly is your eye sight ?(numbers)
3. Do you have headaches ? If so, describe the exact location !
4. You mentioned reading difficulties; since when do you have these ? What exactly happens when you are reading ?
5. Do you have difficulties to concentrate ?
6. Do your eyes feel tired after reading some time ?
7. Do you suffer of photofobia ( sensitive to sunlight )?
8. Who is your optician/optometrist/ophthlamo logist ?

Dear Dantes,
Your problem could be strabisms; both eyes have problems to fixate at one point which may :
1. cause photofobia,
2. be caused by farsightedness (exists from about 4-6 meters).
3. the strength/values of the measured glasses doesn't/don't have to be that high to cause complaints; I've seen people who didn't need any spherical or cylindrical additions ?
In my opinion you may need prism glasses to cope with your problem.
If you have any questions left, do not hesitate to contact me.

If you're not able to conduct a telephone call please let your optician / optometrist / ophthalmologist contact me.
Best regards,
Hugo Krukkert.

You might have another problem; your complaints seem of strabological nature but that is hard to tell from a distance. So, I like to suggest you to contact your optician, optometrist orthoptist or ophthalmologist and give them this message. Because they know more about eyes, I can explain to them what to look for.
Best regards,

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Taurus

Someone is very short-tempered, and they're liable to fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Maybe they're feeling vulnerable in some way or are desperately trying to defend what they see as their territory. Be sensitive to this and don't goad them into being even more irritable or upset than they are already. Frankly, it's just not worth it.
