Hello I am a 45 yo female who has had a history of optic neuritis 4 years ago and diplopia one year ago and now i am having blurred vision last three weeks. I have had all the MS work up and Myasthenia Gravis work up and lyme last year and four years ago. I went to Neuro_Opthalmologist and he checked my eyes and stated that my vision is just fine, maybe a bifocal because of my age!
Doesnt know what is wrong? Said he would write a RX for glasses if it made me "feel" better! Suggested a test for Diabetes although he saw no signs with my eyes. I asked if he could order the Fasting Glucose he said no he didnt want to step on my primary care toes! I dont have one!
So I asked him what about my vision I cant drive at times and definately cant read hardly and went to church Sunday couldnt read the big screen onthe wall!!!! SOmething wrong????? I dont know what to do if my vision is fine why cant I see clearly??????? I am at my witts end. What could blurred vision be? I have no other symptoms except I have a achy fullness under my right ear and the side of neck hurts. Help

Typically blurry vision problems are related to dry eyes. It sounds ridiculous but dryness can cause intermittent problems with blurry vision; along with irritation, tearing, and a foreign body sensation. Though I am not a doctor by any stretch of the word, I do deal with these things on a daily basis; and trying out some artificial tears (pretty much anything that doesn't say "get the red out" on the bottle) would be a good place to start, and I would suggest using them AT LEAST four times a day.

Does your blurry vision clear up when you cover either eye, and has your double vision resolved already? It could be possible that your double vision is so mild that your vision appears to be blurry.

Also, are you experiencing eye pain, or more light sensitivity than usual while having blurry vision?

I suggest you a neurological examination , cerebral and cervical MRI( optic neuritis and diplopia may be signs of multiple sclerosis and i think it is very important to exclude this etiology),perimetry;all the best

i suggest exclusion of MS should be the top most priority but again this ear ache and neck pain, should exclude vi nerve palsy in case u still have binocular diplopia

I have had the whole MS work up with no diagnosis. My blurred vision comes and goes still I also have have had few episodes Iof double vision and the weird thing is that if I tilt my head backwards looking at ceiling it goes away!!! This scares me a bit.
I don't want to go to doctor again then the whole ms stuff again those work ups are expensive even with insurance.
They have started me on tegretol for trigeminal Nueralgia fir the ear ache pain and eye pain face sensitivity. We shall see.
I feel like all these vision problems mean something. I've been told well when you hit your forties the vision starts to go ! Well it doesn't come and go right?

oh no madina life begins at forty! vision doesn't go at forty at all. Trigeminal neuralgia, fine. but i have a strong feeling now that you may have vertebrobasilar artery insufficency. do you smoke too much or drink or sit too much on computers?

According to me you need prism glasses. Strange huh ! Since 1993 I specialized in strabology iun an autodidactical way, because there was no such thing as literature concerning the topics I was confronted with. However this is less important. Your problems are!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
