HPV test might be better predictor of cervical cancer than Pap smear
A test that detects the two strains of human papillomavirus that are most likely to raise the risk of invasive cervical cancer, when combined with the Pap test, may be more accurate for many women than the Pap test alone, a new study indicates.

If it prvents my daughter from having degrading humilitating pap smears from smug doctors I've had all my adult life, i'm all for it.

I'm with you on that! I HATE the thought of the pap for the same reasons. But the hpv screen (as I understand it) is very close to the same with regard to degrading and humiliating in nature.
