Research the SURGEONS. I think you'll find that some have a much higher rate of lymphodema than others. My surgeon took all 20 lymph nodes from my arm based on the appearance of the tumor. At my request, he did a mastectomy.

I asked him about lymphodema. He said, "My patients don't get lymphodema." I was a candidate for it if anyone was, and ... not the slightest.
