Incontinence after sex

My daughter got married in late June this year. She and her husband both made the vow to remain virgins until after they got married. I waited for the call that night - you know...bleeding and pain, but never got one so I thought things were all right.
The next day she snuck in the bathroom and called me. Seems he is huge for her and it was terribly painful. The honeymoon came and went and they both had to return to school - he to Utah and she to New York (let's don't go there on why they chose not to wait until they graduated).
Anyway, it's been 3 months, now, and he came to see her for his break. They have had sex every day for the last 4 days - sometimes twice in a day. While it is still very painful, they have been trying different positions to try to ease the pain for her.
But tonight she called me with disturbing news. She was incontinent twice - once at school and once at work. She was not doing anything strenuous - it just leaked right out of her. I'm a nurse and I don't think this is a normal response even if he is large. I need an educated response ASAP here. Her school insurance card got lost in the mail and she can't see a doctor for 2 weeks. If this is something serious I'll choke down the cost.
I need to know if this is b/c he is large and is injuring her or what. Please someone answer as quickly as possible. I told her not to have sex with him tonight to give her body a break. Won't she adapt to his size? Is her health in danger? Need answers right away please. Thank you.

I just registered here - thought it might give me some direct access but it doesn't seem to have done that. I wanted to add that my daughter is 19 (she'll be 20 in November) and has never had any problems with incontinence before. Tried to add just my first name but I couldn't. Angel H is still the "Angel" that posted the first request for assistance.
Thanks for all responses.

I just wondered if you ever got to the bottom of this as I am also 19, never had problems before, then lost my virginity (he was large). I now have problems with incontinence, which is very depressing at my age. Did you come up with any solutions?

Incontinence after sex is usually linked to a bladder infection. Go get it checked out. I had the same problem. You may have one with no other symptoms (e.g. urine odor, pain urinating).
Also, try kegels.

Bladder leaks or incontinence are also sometimes attributed to infections or pelvic prolapse. Infections may be brought by inadequate personal hygiene after sexual intercourse, so you might want to point that out to your daughter. Abstaining from the sex for awhile helps ease the discomfort. Although prolapse is rare in teens, it is also possible especially if you have a family history. Talking to a urogynecologist is the best thing to do.
