"It sends impulses to the brain to either shut off pain receptors," said Pro Staff physical therapist Anthony Moscaritola, adding "or it sends messages to the brain to release endorphins." The procedure is used in addition to other physical exercises and regiments to alleviate pain at the Kearny facility at 206 Bergen Ave.
