bloody mucus in stool

For almost two weeks now, I have had bloody mucus in my stools, which have been considerably loose. I have very active bowel sounds after I eat, and once I go to the bathroom, the urgency increases for about 30 minutes. The best way that I can describe the stool is that sometimes it just has a bloody mucus on it (not bright red), but other times it seems like it's just bloody sediment coming out (again, not bright red, but also not dark/black). I haven't had any abdominal cramping or pain with my BMs, and I haven't lost any weight. Also, I'm only 21 yrs old. I know I should go see a GI doctor, but I was really trying to wait this out. Any suggestions of what to do (otc treatment)/what this could be?

sounds to me you can have a case of active colitis you really need to go see a gi doc and get scheduled for a colonoscopy ASAP... this will not clear up on its own it will only get worse without treatment hope this helps....

I started having loose bloody (almost pink) stools that started last month. I had constant cramping at first, almost like PMS cramps, now its only when I have to have a BM. When I have a BM its usally very loose, bloody looking and not much at all, then I am fine. No weight loss, no fatig, had a blood test,(arm) a few weeks ago, docs thought I had a virus, they came back fine. They had me take a Fecal Blood test, came back possitive for Blood..DUHHH...now sending me for colonoscopy next week. Have had muscle aches, and pain in my upper thighs in the back, getting better but still have much muscle pain. Could I have colon cancer? I am 40 and always very healthy, never get sick, but this came on overnight and has not gone away! Please help
