28/female
For the last 1 month, I have been having the following issues
1. Gastric trouble (burping, passing wind)
2. Burning sensation in the middle of the chest and to the left side of the chest (feels like heartburn)
3. Undigested food in the stools occasionally
4. Burning sensation in the lower left abdomen (1 inch below the navel, and 2 inches to the left of it), normally there is no pain in this area, the skin when rubbed has a sore/burning sensation, and on pressing that area, I have a slight discomfort. On lying down and stretching, the muscles seem to cause some pain

I really want to know what the issue is, please help. I also want to rule out any reproductive organ issue(My pelvic and abdominal Ultrasound looks good without any issues, the general health checkup is also fine, and the thyroid values are also normal).
Is it something related to gas only?

I also have allergic rhinitis and I am pretty stressed nowadays at work. So could this also add to the symptoms?

The burning sensation also goes down to the left pubic area. This is not there on all the days, it comes and goes on and off. This is really eating my head, The stool test has come out normal, and the urine test also. Please some one help me narrow down the issue
Hope it helps

Hi Beautiful,

With the location of the burning in question, there are a few key culprits that I would recommend you look further into:

Ulcerative Colitis would be first on my list. It mostly manifests itself in the lower left abdominal quadrant, slightly left of the navel. Symptoms include:

* anemia
* fatigue
* weight loss
* loss of appetite
* rectal bleeding
* loss of body fluids and nutrients
* skin lesions
* joint pain
* growth failure (specifically in children)

Next, Crohn's disease is also an IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). Common symptoms of Crohn's disease include abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. Less common symptoms include poor appetite, fever, night sweats, rectal pain, and rectal bleeding. The symptoms of Crohn's disease are dependent on the location, the extent, and the severity of the inflammation. The different subtypes of Crohn's disease and their symptoms are:

1. Crohn's colitis is inflammation that is confined to the colon. Abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea are the common symptoms. Anal fistulae and peri-rectal abscesses also can occur.

2. Crohn's enteritis refers to inflammation confined to the small intestine (the first part, called the jejunum or the second part, called the ileum). Involvement of the ileum alone is referred to as Crohn's ileitis. Abdominal pain and diarrhea are the common symptoms. Obstruction of the small intestine also can occur.

3. Crohn's terminal ileitis is inflammation that affects only the very end of the small intestine (terminal ileum), the part of the small intestine closest to the colon. Abdominal pain and diarrhea are the common symptoms. Small intestinal obstruction also can occur.

4. Crohn's entero-colitis and ileo-colitis are terms to describe inflammation that involve both the small intestine and the colon. Bloody diarrhea and abdominal pain are the common symptoms. Small intestinal obstruction also can occur.

Crohn's terminal ileitis and ileo-colitis are the most common types of Crohn's disease.(Ulcerative colitis frequently involves only the rectum or rectum and sigmoid colon at the distal end of the colon. These are called ulcerative proctitis and procto-sigmoiditis, respectively.)

If there is no evidence of these, might I suggest you look into finding out what you are allergic to. You may have an adult onset Celiac's disease, which is getting more and more common (1 in 133).

Diagnostically, see if you can't get a CT of the Abdominal and Pelvic area, and if you are well insured, do what I am doing and get an endoscopy and colonoscopy. There is no alternative to those two tests, they are the best and will remain the best. Even CT scans can not pick up the slightest things a colonoscopy could unravel.

I hope you feel better, good luck to you. Remember, you are your own advocate, and you need to remain vigilant and stay on your doctors! If you feel that there is no compliance, change doctors! There are better ones out there.

Sincerely,
Keith

Thanks for the information given, i just wants to explain to you my feelings. since 2008 I have been having burning feeling as if my left side of the abdomen is placed very close to fire, and a worm like object moving around the lower part of my abdomen and a severe pain on the belly button. after several laboratory tests and ultrasound, some treatment were administered. The movement stopped but the burning feeling is still very much on it, most especially 8 to 10 days after my monthly flow. Please I need your advise.
Thanks.

Could you please let me know the Brand or type of probiotic you used?

I'm hearing there are different types of probiotics that help with different things so I'd like to try to type you used since your symptoms seem to be exactly what I'm experiencing.

For me, probiotics work and I don't have the issue anymore at all. Mine was only on the lower LEFT side (about 2 inches below the belly button and 2 inches to the left). It was a burning feeling sometimes and other times just an achy feeling. I also felt really bloated whether I ate or not (I'm not fat and eat healthy so it wasn't junk food issues). The brand of probiotic I tried that works is "Nature's Bounty" 2 billion live cultures - 6 probiotic strains. The link to their website is attached, but I bought it online through Costco. I don't know if what you have is the same as my situation, but this really works for me. I take one every day and I don't have the issues any more at all. http://www.naturesbounty.com/product/051520

Hi,
I got okay..:) I took a lot of curd/yoghurt and tender coconut water. I removed stress. I think stress was my major culprit, and I googled for many things online related to this and got further stressed. I promised myself that i will not google for symptoms from then on. My mind became calmer and I started having healthy food. Since the skin in the lower part of hte abdomen is tender, and since I kept touching and pressing there all the time to see if there is pain, I guess the skin had hte burning sensation. I started applying butter to the area and stopped touching it, and the sensation went away.

I think mental frame of mind directly affects the gut and digestion. So my request to all who have similar symptoms. Calm yourself down, be stress free and stop extensive search online for symptoms. It helped me :)

Hi, becareful with that mesh stuff, its been alot of cases where people have passed from that, not trying to scare you, but you'll be better without it, the human body dose not react well to these forgien objects there coming out with, do not try new things like that too you've done full reasearch on it... If you can, i would have that removed asap.
